NDMC to organize One Day – One Hour – Together Shramdaan Programme on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay: Kuljeet Singh Chahal

“Let us walk on the path of cleanliness shown by Pujya Mahatma Gandhi ji and dedicate our efforts through Shramdaan on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Ji.” With this call, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will organize a “One Day – One Hour – Together” Shramdaan Programme tomorrow, September 25, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. This was informed today by Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Vice Chairperson, NDMC.

Shri Chahal informed that, to prepare for the programme, a high-level meeting was convened today in the NDMC Council Room under the chairmanship of Shri Keshav Chandra, Chairman, NDMC, with the participation of all Heads of Departments of the concerned departments.

He said that to ensure the success of the Shramdaan programme, a special team of 56 employees has been constituted. Each of the 14 Sanitation Circles will be headed by a Nodal Officer, supported by three Sub-Nodal Officers, who will be responsible for ensuring the active participation of all NDMC employees during the one-hour campaign from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

Shri Chahal directed all HODs to ensure that every employee participates with full enthusiasm and responsibility, emphasizing that active participation of employees is the key to the success of this “Shramdaan Programme”

He further informed that, along with manual Shramdaan, NDMC will also deploy its modern machinery such as Mechanical Road Sweepers, Pressure Jetting Machines, Scrubbing Machines, etc., to make the campaign more effective and result-oriented.

Shri Chahal recalled with pride that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji had launched the Swachh Bharat Mission from Mandir Marg in the NDMC area. In the same spirit, tomorrow’s Shramdaan programme will be conducted with full zeal and grandeur.

He also mentioned that NDMC has already initiated night wet cleaning and night sweeping in its areas to ensure that citizens wake up to a clean, dust-free, and pleasant environment every morning.

Shri Chahal appealed to the citizens and visitors of New Delhi to actively participate in this Shramdaan programme and contribute to making the NDMC area cleaner, greener, and more beautiful.
