DOMESTIC HELP ARRESTED IN HIGH-VALUE THEFT CASE, JEWELLERY ARTICLES AND CASH RECOVERED

The team of Barakhamba Road Police Station has solved a case of high-value theft by domestic help involving both cash and jewellery within a short span of time. The accused has been arrested and stolen articles have been recovered.
 
INCIDENT DETAILS:
 
Sh. Satinder Singh Chhabra filed a complaint stating that his domestic help Rinku had stolen cash and jewellery worth several lakhs of rupees from his home at Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 97/25, dated 06.09.2025, under section 306 BNS was registered at Barakhamba Road Police Station and investigation was initiated.
 
TEAM, INVESTIGATION & DETECTION:
 
A specialised team comprising of SI Sandhya, Ct. Mandeep and Ct. Rajan was constituted under the guidance of Inspr. Mahabir Singh, SHO/Barakhamba Road and the overall supervision of Sh. Nageen Kaushik, ACP/Barakhamba Road to work out the case.
 
The suspect, Rinku, was immediately apprehended for questioning. An analysis of his mobile phone uncovered suspicious UPI transactions of large sums of money. Further investigation traced the digital footprint of these financial transactions, which strengthened the case against the suspect. 
 
During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in repeated thefts at the complainant’s residence. The suspect was promptly arrested and at his instance, stolen jewellery and cash were recovered from his rented premises at Sangam Vihar, New Delhi.
 
He also disclosed that some of the cash and jewellery had been sent to his hometown. Further efforts are underway to recover the remaining stolen items.
 
PROFILE OF ARRESTED PERSON:
 
Rinku (21 years) son of Anil Kumar: He is a resident of Sangam Vihar, Delhi and hails from Village Usari, District Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. He first worked as a domestic servant in a home in Rajouri Garden. Later, he found employment through a placement agency at the Chhabra family’s residence. However, driven by greed, he started stealing from his employers.
 
RECOVERY:
 
• Jewellery:
  1. Five rings
  2. Four studs
  3. Three 50-gram silver biscuits
  4. One 100-gram silver biscuit
  5.  One kada
  6.  Two gold-coloured bracelets
• Indian Currency: Rs. 56,800/-.
• Foreign Currency:
  1. One note of 5 euros
  2. One note of 20 dirhams
  3. Two notes of 1 ringgit
  4. One note of 2 Singapore dollars
