THREE DESPERATE SNATCHERS APPREHENDED BY THE STAFF OF PS MADHU VIHAR, EAST DISTRICT; ONE MOTORCYCLE USED IN CRIME RECOVERED

? Acting swiftly, the staff of PS Madhu Vihar, under the supervision of ACP/Madhu Vihar & SHO/PS Madhu Vihar, traced the culprits and led to arrests within 24 hours.

? Accused traced through CCTV footage, human intelligence & technical surveillance.

? Three snatchers – Arbaz, Ashish @ Ashu, and Sachin – were apprehended, and the motorcycle used in the crime was recovered.

INCIDENT:-

On 02.09.2025, a PCR call was received at PS Madhu Vihar regarding the snatching of a mobile phone near RAS Vihar Apartment, I.P. Extension, Delhi. The call was assigned to SI Naveen, who along with his team reached the spot but did not find the complainant there. On enquiry, it was revealed that the complainant, a school teacher, had gone to her workplace at Chander Vihar, Delhi. Later, the complainant Ms. Nikita Verma, R/o West Vinod Nagar, Delhi arrived at the Police Station and reported that her Samsung Galaxy A-16 mobile phone had been snatched by three persons riding a motorcycle. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 304/2025, U/s 304(2)/3(5) BNS was registered and investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION: -

Considering the gravity of the incident, under the leadership of SHO/PS Madhu Vihar and close supervision of ACP/Madhu Vihar, a dedicated team comprising HC Sachin Tyagi, HC Neeraj, and Ct. Ashwani was formed.

? The team thoroughly checked about 100 CCTV cameras in the vicinity.

? One suspect, Arbaz, was identified from the footage.

? Acting on technical surveillance and secret information, on 03.09.2025, the team apprehended Arbaz (R/o Rajveer Colony, Gharoli, Delhi) and Ashish @ Ashu (R/o I.P. Extension, Delhi) from Ghazipur, Delhi.

During interrogation, both disclosed the name of their associate Sachin (R/o Kondli, Delhi, Age 21 years). The accused were produced before the Hon’ble Court, where one-day PC remand was granted. Acting on their disclosure and further secret information, the third accused Sachin was apprehended, and the motorcycle (DL7SCM*) used in the commission of the crime* was recovered. Investigation of the case is in progress.

PROFILES OF ACCUSED: -

1. Arbaz (Age 22 years)

o R/o Rajveer Colony, Gharoli, Delhi.

o Education: Studied up to 10th standard.

o Occupation: works as carpenter.

o Alcoholic.

o Habitual offender, previously involved in one criminal case

2. Ashish @ Ashu (Age 22 years)

o R/o I.P. Extension, Delhi.

o Education: studied upto 8th standard.

o Occupation: works at toys shop as a labor.

3. Sachin (Age 21 years)

o R/o Kondli, Delhi.

o Education: studied up to 8th standard

o Occupation: works as painter.

MOTIVE OF THE ACCUSED: -

During interrogation, it was revealed that all three accused are alcoholic and indulged in snatching to arrange quick money for purchasing alcohol and sustaining their lavish lifestyle. They specifically targeted lone commuters carrying mobile phones in residential areas, believing them to be easy targets.

RECOVERY: -

? Motorcycle DL7SCM** used in the commission of the offence.
