CRIME BRANCH BUSTS ACTIVE INTER-STATE DRUG SYNDICATE; 3 DRUG SUPPLIERS ARRESTED

INTRODUCTION

A team of Crime Branch/NDR, R K Puram led by Insp. Rampal along with the other staff under the supervision of ACP Umesh Barthwal has arrested three accused persons namely (1) Fahim Ahmed KM r/o Calicut, Kerala, (2) Deepak Sharma @ Deepu r/o Patiala,

Punjab and (3) Sameer r/o Kairana, Shamli, UP and recovered a total 4 kg 133 grams of Hybrid Ganja (Organic Marijuana) and accordingly, a case U/s 20/29 NDPS Act, PS Crime Branch dated 09.07.25 was registered in this regard.

INFORMATION & OPERATION

On 08.07.2025, a reliable information was received that an active drug supplier namely Fahim Ahmad, along with an associate, would be supplying Organic Ganja in various parts of Delhi. This information was verified and raid was conducted.

The raiding team patrolled Dwarka, Vasant Kunj, RK Puram, and surrounding areas in search of the suspects. Subsequently, the informer indicated that the accused would arrive near Delhi Jal Board Bus Stand, M.G. Road, Mehrauli between 4:00–5:00 AM to deliver or collect Hybrid Ganja.

On 09.07.2025, around 4:30 AM, three individuals were spotted in suspicious circumstances and identified by the informer as Fahim Ahmed, Deepak Sharma @ Deepu, and Sameer. They were surrounded and apprehended by the raiding team.

Upon search, the following recoveries of Marijuana was made:

(1) Fahim Ahmed (recovery 1032 gm),

(2) Deepak Sharma @ Deepu (recovery 1036 gm) and

(3) Sameer (recovery 2065)

A total of 4 Kg 133 GM Hybrid Ganja was recovered from their possession.

Profile of Accused Persons:

1. Fahim Ahmed KM (Age 32) – Native of Kerala

• Background: Born in Calicut, Kerala; completed BA in English (2016). Comes from a business family; father runs a hardware shop.

• Work History: Worked as a Store Manager at Adidas showroom in Bengaluru.

• Criminal Role: Recruited into drug trafficking by his friend Samjhu (also from Calicut). Assisted in distribution of OG/Hybrid Ganja, receiving consignments at major airports and handling deliveries/cash transactions in Delhi.

• Network: Connected to Sameer and Deepak Sharma through Samjhu for handling and exchanging narcotics.

2. Deepak Sharma @ Deepu (Age 33) – Resident of Patiala, Punjab

• Background: Graduate in B.Sc (2017); former Merchant Navy worker and gym owner. Father was an ex-Army officer (deceased).

• Entry into Crime: Met Samjhu in Kasol ~8–9 years ago. Developed drug addiction and was drawn into the narcotics trade by Samjhu.

• Criminal Role: Acted as courier and handler for Samjhu’s ganja consignments. Delivered/collected drugs and cash in Delhi.

• Network: Regularly coordinated with Sameer and Fahim Ahmed; identified Shakir as another associate involved.

3. Sameer (Age 30) – Resident of Shamli, Uttar Pradesh

• Background: Limited education (primary level); worked as daily wage laborer; currently involved in garment import business.

Brother Shakir frequently travels abroad.

• Criminal Role: Became a central figure in the Delhi supply chain of hybrid ganja after being approached by Samjhu (now abroad).

Handled distribution and hawala payments.

• Operations: Received instructions via Shakir; distributed ganja locally, collected cash, and forwarded funds after keeping commission.

• Network: Provided ganja to Fahim Ahmed and Deepak Sharma; coordinated multiple consignments across Delhi.

Further investigation is being carried out.
