Inauguration of Etiquette and Skill Training and Unveiling of Two Handbooks

Sh. S.B.K. Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, inaugurated the "Etiquette and Skill Training" for Duty Officers and Integrated Public Facilitation Officers of Delhi Police at the Adarsh Auditorium, PHQ.
On this occasion, he also unveiled two handbooks specifically designed for this "Etiquette and Skill Training" program. The training program and handbooks were designed and prepared by Delhi Police Academy. 
The training program will consist of two-day workshops, with two batches for 700 Duty Officers (starting today, August 18, and running through August 21) and three batches for 1,300 Integrated Public Facilitation Officers (August 25-September 4). The training has commenced with 350 officers from the L&O Zone-I of Delhi Police.
Around 2,000 police personnel will be trained within 15 days.
They will be trained by the experts as well as experienced faculty of Delhi Police Academy.
The training will cover crucial behavioural aspects, including professional conduct, legal knowledge, and soft skills essential for effective public engagement.
This training program is designed for Duty Officers and Integrated Public Facilitation Officers from all police stations across Delhi. 
Its objective is to enhance their skills and knowledge to effectively handle citizens and resolve their problems.
During the event, Commissioner of Police, Sh. S.B.K. Singh was welcomed by Sh. Sanjay Kumar, IPS, Special CP, Training. 
Sh. Asif Mohd. Ali, IPS, Joint Director, DPA underscored the training program's significance in enhancing police officers' skills and knowledge. 
Commissioner of Police, Shri S.B.K. Singh addressed the trainees, and participating police personnel. In his address, Commissioner of Police, Sh. S.B.K. Singh, emphasized on the importance of etiquette, professionalism, and sensitivity when dealing with the public. He noted that the initial interaction between the police and the public sets the tone for the entire experience and is crucial for building trust and confidence.
He also highlighted the need for a fundamental shift in mindset, quoting, "officers must transition from a feudal mindset to service oriented attitude). He also emphasized, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
By focusing on service-oriented skills and a shift in mindset, this training aims to build capacity of Delhi Police frontline officers and ensure every interaction is professional and compassionate.
