India’s Dominance Continues, Crushes Pakistan by 88 Runs

India registered yet another emphatic victory in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, defeating Pakistan by 88 runs in the sixth match of the tournament. Played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the high-voltage encounter saw India post a competitive total before their bowlers sealed the win with a clinical performance.

Toss and India’s Innings
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and opted to bowl first. Despite early setbacks, India’s middle order showed resilience. Richa Ghosh played a quickfire knock of 32 runs off 18 balls, smashing three fours and two sixes. India were bowled out for 247 in 50 overs. Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal picked up two wickets each for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Chase Falters
Chasing 248,Pakistan were under pressure right from the start. Indian bowlers kept striking at regular intervals, never allowing the opposition batters to settle. By the 20th over, Pakistan were reeling at 57/3 and failed to recover from there. Despite a few runs from the top order, the entire team collapsed under the mounting pressure.

India’s Bowling Brilliance
Renuka Singh, kranti Gaud  Sneh Rana, and Deepti Sharma showcased superb bowling, breaking Pakistan’s backbone with consistent breakthroughs. Their tight spells ensured Pakistan’s hopes of a comeback were completely dashed.

India’s Unbeaten Streak Intact
With this win, India maintained their unbeaten record against Pakistan in women’s ODIs. The victory also strengthened India’s position on the World Cup points table, further boosting their confidence in the tournament.
