ARRESTED A PROCLAIMED OFFENDER OF A MAJOR DRUG TRAFFICKING CASE AFTER A LONG CHASE

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Delhi Police, Crime Branch has apprehended a key accused Barkha, who was previously declared a proclaimed offender in a significant drug trafficking case. The arrest of Barkha underscores the Delhi Police's unwavering commitment to its 'ZERO TOLERANCE' policy against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA). 

             The ongoing investigation into this case began on 14.04.2024, with the arrest of duo brothers, Sumit @ Sunny and Sachin, resident of Aman Vihar, Delhi. They were apprehended in Burari area with 1,010 grams of Heroin while attempting to deliver the consignment to an individual named Gaurav. During the investigation, the arrested duo revealed that they had procured the Heroin from Renu, a resident of Pratap Nagar, Delhi, who was subsequently arrested. During police custody remand, Sachin and Sumit @ Sunny disclosed that their wives, Kajal and Barkha, resp. were also actively involved in drug trafficking activities and supply heroin under their direction. Following these revelations, Kajal and Barkha absconded. Proceedings under 82 CrPC were initiated against them, leading to their declaration as proclaimed offenders on 18.10.2024.

           On 29.07.25, continuing the relentless pursuit to dismantle the entire network, the ANTF team acting on credible intelligence, successfully apprehended the wanted accused, Barkha w/o Sachin, from Aman Vihar, Delhi. A dedicated team comprising SI Dev, HC Deepak, HC Surjeet, and W/HC Neetu, under the leadership of Inspector Shiv Kumar and close supervision of Shri Raj Kumar, ACP/ANTF Crime Branch, Delhi Police, executed the operation.

ACCUSED DETAILS:
Name: Barkha w/o Sachin, Age: 32 years, Add: Aman Vihar, Kirari Suleman Nagar, Delhi.
INVOLVEMENTS: 
She is previously involved in four cases under the Excise Act, registered at PS Vivek Vihar, Delhi.
The investigation is currently underway to trace the remaining sources of the contraband and apprehend all implicated individuals.
