Dr. K.A. Paul Exposes R. Krishnayya’s BJP Shift as Betrayal of BCs at New Delhi Press Meet

Mahesh Dhoundiyal - Delhi

At a press conference held at Andhra Bhawan today, Dr. K.A. Paul, leader of the Praja Shanti Party, strongly criticized the decision of former MP and BC leader R. Krishnayya to join the BJP, labeling it a betrayal of the Backward Classes (BC) community. The event sparked heated discussions on the systemic marginalization of BCs in the Telugu states and highlighted the urgent need for political reform.

Dr. Paul emphasized the historical exclusion of BCs, who make up 60% of the population in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, from key leadership roles over the last 78 years. He called for a united movement involving BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities to fight against caste and family dominance in politics, in alignment with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of equality under Article 14 of the Constitution.

Key Points from Dr. K.A. Paul’s Address

1. R. Krishnayya’s Betrayal of BCs
Dr. Paul condemned R. Krishnayya’s frequent party switches, stating, “R. Krishnayya has reduced BC politics to a game of opportunism. From TDP to YSRCP and now BJP, he’s selling the BC vote bank for personal gain. This is not leadership; this is a betrayal of the 60% of Telugu state voters who trusted him.
2. Opposition to Political Dynasties and Foreign Influence
Dr. Paul criticized political dynasties and foreign funding in Indian politics. Referring to Krishnayya’s alignment with BJP, he said, “Joining hands with parties that support dynasties and foreign agendas is a direct affront to Ambedkar’s dream of equality and self-reliance.”

3. Call for BC Leadership and Representation
Dr. Paul highlighted the glaring absence of BCs in chief ministerial roles over the past 78 years and urged the community to take charge. “Why should 5% of Reddys and 1% Velama ( Dora’s ) dominate politics when BCs are 60% of the population in Telangana ? It’s time for BCs to lead and not be sidelined by self-serving leaders like R. Krishnayya,” he asserted.

4. Uniting Marginalized Communities for Change
Calling for a grassroots revolution, Dr. Paul urged the 12,000 sarpanches across Telangana to contest the upcoming elections under the united banner of BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities. “This isn’t just about one election—it’s about reclaiming our voice and fulfilling Ambedkar’s vision of equality and justice,” he said.

Dr. K.A. Paul’s Statement
“R. Krishnayya’s move to BJP is a clear betrayal of the BC community. Leaders like him have turned our struggle for equality into a game of personal ambition. But enough is enough! The BC community is not a bargaining chip. We must unite, rise, and take back what is rightfully ours. Together, we can end this caste and family stranglehold and build a future that reflects the true diversity of our people.”

Call to Action
Dr. Paul concluded by urging voters to reject opportunistic leaders and support candidates who prioritize the welfare of marginalized communities. “This is the time for change. Let’s unite and create a new political reality where leadership truly represents the people,” he said.
