The program was presided over by Supreme Court advocate Arshad Salvi. While conducting the stage, State General Secretary Aditi elaborated on the history of Press Day. She said that on this day the responsibility of having a responsible press in the interest of the country and society is decided. State President of NMC Himachal Shanti Gautam and Vice President Vikas Sharma said that if India is independent today, then its interest comes through the press and we can say whatever we want and it is reflected through freedom of expression.

The chief guest of the program, MP Ravindra Narayan Bohra said that the press is a responsible profession and our society cannot be imagined without the press. He said that the importance of the press is not from today but from before independence. During independence, it contributed to the freedom of the country, and after independence, it has played an important role in bringing awareness and eradicating evils in the country. A responsible and aware press has been needed in the country since the beginning. He expressed concern over the declining level of journalism and said that the prevalence of paid news has increased in the recent past and due to various reasons, this sacred profession has declined.
