Gulshan Paruthi - Gwalior
There is a lot of enthusiasm in the markets of Gwalior in the preparations for Deepotsav. The faces of the artisans doing small businesses on the footpaths and hawkers are shining differently this time.
Rajeshwari Prajapati, who sells earthen lamps and worship materials at Huravali intersection, said happily, "This time all the earnings of Deepawali will reach our home. No employee of the Municipal Corporation has come to collect fees (tax) from me. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given us tax-free business exemption."
Kallu Prajapati, who sells clay toys and lamps in Thathipur area, said, "Earlier, I was afraid that the municipal corporation employee would come and ask us to remove it, but this time we are doing our business with self-respect."
Praising the public welfare policies of the state, Rajesh Prajapati said, "Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given us a big encouragement, which has increased both our morale and self-respect."
The Madhya Pradesh government has implemented Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's "Vocal for Local" campaign with full promptness. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has decided to give tax-free business exemption to small artisans on the street and footpath on the occasion of Diwali, which is not only benefiting the artisans making clay lamps, but also encouraging other craftsmen.
This Diwali, the story of happiness of the artisans of Gwalior is really an inspiring example, which makes us aware of our indigenous products.
