Safdarjung Hospital Inaugurates Dedicated Registration Counter in PMR OPD to assist Divyangjan.

In a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and healthcare services ,Safdarjung Hospital today inaugurated a specialized registration counter in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) Out-Patient Department to assist DIVYANG . This initiative demonstrates the hospital's commitment to providing inclusive and efficient healthcare services to all members of society. The new counter is designed to streamline the registration process for PWDs, ensuring they receive prompt attention and specialized care without having to navigate through the general registration system. This patient-centric approach aims to reduce waiting times and physical strain for individuals with mobility challenges and other disabilities.

Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Talwar, Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital and VMMC, stated, "This dedicated registration counter represents our hospital's dedication to providing equitable healthcare access to all patients. By understanding the unique challenges faced by Persons with Disabilities, we are taking concrete steps to make their hospital experience more comfortable and efficient. This initiative aligns with our broader mission of inclusive healthcare delivery."

Dr. Ajay Gupta, Head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, added, "The establishment of this specialized counter will significantly improve the healthcare journey for our patients with disabilities. Our department sees around 500 patients daily with  a substantial number of PWD patients (DIVYANG), and this facility will ensure they receive the attention and care they deserve right from the moment they enter our OPD. It's not just about medical treatment; it's about dignity and respect in healthcare delivery."

The key features of the new registration counter include wheelchair-accessible design, trained staff sensitive to the needs of PWDs, prioritized and expedited registration process, and clear signage and directions for easy navigation. This initiative is part of Safdarjung Hospital's ongoing efforts to enhance its infrastructure and services to better serve all segments of society, particularly those with special needs.
