In the discussion, experts said - Main Hoon Abhimanyu campaign should become a campaign of the general public

With the aim of keeping an eye on crimes against women and children, the police has started creating WhatsApp groups at the district level, which will be taken to the school level in future. Victims will be able to fearlessly inform the police station about the incidents happening with them or around them, in which their identity will also remain secret.
This information was given by Additional DCP, Women Crime Priyanka Dudve in a discussion centered on the campaign “Main Hoon Abhimanyu” run by MP Police. In this program organized by State Press Club, MP, Ms. Dudve told that WhatsApp groups have been created under various police stations through Srujan Abhiyan to keep an eye on criminal acts and incidents, in which a policeman has also been added. Member girls of this group can share small incidents or other information happening against them. Now, there is a plan to form such groups at school level and to inform about this campaign in parent-teacher meetings. He said that these days, due to being short tempered, incidents like leaving home, breaking marriage have increased, for which it is necessary to give proper advice to children from an early age. Pointing to mobile addiction, he said that it is a step towards cyber crime.

Additional DCP, Headquarters Dr. Seema Alawa said that women and girls are held responsible for crimes, whereas the need of the hour is that we should also explain to our children. Now the new law has been made stricter. Taking minor girls along has also come under the category of serious crime. He said that hormonal changes take place at schooling age, then children start understanding good and bad. In such a situation, right and wrong should be taught at this age. Dr. Alawa said that due to increase in the level of education, cases like dowry have decreased, but cyber crimes are increasing rapidly. Joint Director Women and Child Development Dr. Sandhya Vyas said that the title 'Main Hoon Abhimanyu' itself brings forth a face and today the youth need the most learning and advice. Abhimanyu Abhiyan should become a mass campaign of the public instead of the police department. Dr. Vyas said that Swami Vivekananda had recognized the power of the youth, so he had asked for only 100 youth from the society to change the society.

Assistant Director Women and Child Development Shubhangi Majumdar said that the department is running a One Stop Crisis Center for legal advice and other help in cases of crime against women. Under this, the victim women and girls can stay in the center for five days. She told that on the basis of Indore's activity, a proposal was sent to the central and state government to make a similar scheme, which the central government has included in Mission Shakti. The main objective of this scheme is that women should not be considered weak.

Principal of Delhi Public School, Rau, Asha Nair said that family members have started giving more emphasis on academic results. In such a situation, moral education has been left far behind in life. He said that now there is a need to run a movement called Beti Ko Samjhao instead of Beti Bachao. He said that earlier news of crimes used to come from illiterate and poor class but now complaints of drug abuse, harassment, assault in rich households have become common.

IPS College Architecture Department Head Dr. Manita Saxena said that parents should keep an eye on the activities of children. After-school parties are becoming the center of spoiling children. She said that Abhimanyu Abhiyan should be run on a wide scale. Because even today in society, having a daughter is considered bad. From childhood, sons are given special preference which becomes the main reason for spoiling. He urged the police administration to strictly ban the sale of drugs outside school premises.

In the beginning, the guests were welcomed by Rachna Johri, Sonali Yadav, Akash Chaukse, Abhishek Sisodia, Sudesh Gupta and Kumar Lahoti. On this occasion, the guests released a series of posters centered on Abhimanyu Abhiyan. The program was conducted by President Praveen Khariwal. A large number of members of social organizations and students of Mahatma Gandhi Coaching Institute were present in the program. At the end of the program, the students also asked questions to the speakers.
