A nutrition fair was organized on Wednesday at Vijayaraje Scindia College located in Murar. Also, an exhibition of dishes containing nutritious nutrients was also organized on this occasion. Apart from this, a nutrition quiz competition was also organized. Local women along with college students took advantage of this fair and exhibition organized by the Women and Child Development Department under the National Nutrition Month. In-charge Collector Shri Vivek Kumar has instructed the officials of the Women and Child Development Department to organize programs effectively in all the child development projects of the district under National Nutrition Month.
Women present at the nutrition fair organized at Vijayaraje Scindia College were advised to consume a balanced nutritious diet, especially an iron-rich diet. Also, the benefits of coarse grains were told. Women and students were told that coarse grains are very beneficial for health. Lack of nutritious food can be overcome by preparing dishes of coarse grains (millets). On this occasion, everyone was told that various diseases can be avoided by adopting cleanliness. Along with this, information related to Lalima Yojana was also given and the intake of iron and albendazole medicine was explained in detail.
In the program, Assistant Director Women and Child Development Department Mr. Rahul Pathak, Principal in charge Mr. S.K. Srivastava, Child Development Project Urban 02 Raghavendra Singh Dhakad, Dr. Aparna Sharma (HOD Home Science), Dr. Mausami Singh Assistant Professor Mrs. Mamta Chauhan Assistant Professor, Dr. Shweta Srivastava Lab Technician and Dr. Jeeva Qureshi Guest Faculty along with other officers and employees gave useful information related to nutrition.
They were awarded in the quiz competition.
In the nutrition quiz organized in VRG College, Miss Muskan Sikarwar was awarded first place, Miss Sakshi Sharma second place and Miss Shreya Chauhan third place. Consolation prizes were distributed to all other participants.
Supervisors Mrs. Gayatri Devi Singh, Mrs. Geetanjali Kushwaha, Mrs. Mekhla Narve and Mrs. Sonia Tomar provided information about food elements and micronutrients. An exhibition of nutritious dishes was organized in the program and all participants were explained the method of preparing nutritious food at home.
