International medal-winning water sports winners honoured.

In a felicitation ceremony organised by Delhi State Kayaking and Canoeing Association at Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi, the players Vinay Kumar Kush and Krishna Samaniya who won medals in 'Goodwill Canoeing Cup' in Moscow, Russia recently and their senior coach Manjit Shekhawat were honoured by the special guests present at the event by giving them shawls and symbols. Not only this, other players were also honoured for their achievements on the international stage. Let us tell you that all these players, after getting training at Delhi's 'Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club', play in national and international competitions and win medals on behalf of Delhi State Kayaking and Canoeing Association.

Among the honourable guests who attended the programme, Para Olympic Committee's Chief Administrator Colonel Amrik Singh said that the association is fully dedicated and committed to the development of sports by working in the field of water sports in Delhi in a professional manner.

PEFI's President Mr. Piyush Jain, who was present at the programme, said that this association is doing a wonderful job for the development of sports, for which I congratulate and wish all the members of the association.

Indian Army Adventure Wing's Colonel PS Chauhan said that India is a land powered by water energy from oceans to seas, rivers, ponds. Therefore, people here have started seeing the potential of water sports. He congratulated everyone for this adventurous work of the association.

Delhi State Kayaking and Canoeing Association's President Dr. UK Chaudhary said that the medal winning players have brought laurels to the Delhi Association and Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club at the international level. He said that I believe that a book can be written on their work. They have given very good results with very less resources, because it is a great achievement that many players have got jobs in BSF, Army, CRPF, Army and UP Police through sports quota. Dr. Chaudhary said that today women are participating in every work, this is a big thing for the progress of the country.

Chairman of Delhi State Kayaking and Canoeing Association Chaudhary Trilochan Singh congratulated all the players on the joy of getting medals by their high performance at the international level. He emphasized on swimming and physical activities to all the children. He also urged the government to make maximum efforts for the promotion of sports.

On the other hand, President of 'Sonia Vihar Water Sports Club' Kunwarpal Singh while welcoming all the guests who attended the program said that we get energy from all of you because we are very grateful to you for your personal, mental, ideological and physical support. He said that I would like to thank Mr. Sandeep Mishra for managing the program, who made the entire program even more special.

On this occasion, among the chief guests who attended the program, Colonel Amrik Singh, Colonel PS Chauhan, Mr. Piyush Jain, Mrs. Lalita Adhyapak were specially present, while from DAKCA, Chairman Chaudhary Trilochan Singh, Vice President Mr. KP Singh and Kaushal Kumar, Manjit Shekhawat, Brij Mahkar Rathi, Anil Kumar Pandey, Mr. Mridul Awasthi, Mr. Abhishek Sharma, Mr. Sandeep Mishra, Mr. Ravi, Prof. Abha Jain, Prof. Mamta Sehrawat, Nisha, Snehi Sudha, Loveleen, Renu, Rekha and other executive members of the club along with the players of the club were also present.
