World Tourism Day was celebrated in the Tourism Department of Jiwaji University.

Gwalior. World Tourism Day was celebrated in the Tourism Department of Jiwaji University on Friday. Cultural and educational programs were organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The program was inaugurated by Sanjay Malhotra, Regional Manager of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and Head of Tourism Department Prof. Radha Tomar, Co-convener Dr. PK Jain by garlanding the picture of Mother Saraswati and lighting the lamp.

Sanjay Malhotra, who was present as a guest in the program, said that there are a lot of possibilities of tourism in this region. With the opening of the National Park and the arrival of cheetahs in our region, the demand of the region in the field of tourism has definitely increased. He said that regional tourism including Mitawali Padavali is getting a boost. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is continuously working in the field of tourism. Deepa Dixit, founder of Ragini Foundation, said that we are promoting regional tourism in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. There is a lot of potential for tourism in the region. People need to be introduced to the historical heritage that they are not familiar with. Dr. PK Jain said that re-think tourism should be followed. Head of the Department of Tourism, Prof. Radha Tomar, while encouraging the students of tourism, said that tourism has always played an important role in the economic and social progress of any country. India is a country of art, culture, natural beauty and historical buildings. Every year people from all corners of the world come to see the beauty of India. An eye camp was also organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day. The students of the school made reels on historical heritage in which Shivang, a student of KV School, got the first place by making a reel of Patwa Waterfall Panihar. Simran Santwani got the second place by making reels on Mitawali Padawali. Both the winners were honored with cash prizes.

In the program, the students presented poetry recitation, folk dance, folk music etc. In which the students displayed the cultural diversity of the country. At the end of the program, prizes and certificates were distributed to the students by the guests.

Historical heritage promoted -

Cultural walk was held in the cultural program. Students arrived in the costumes of different states. The students who presented South India walked in the style of superstars of that place. Solo, group dance and singing took place in the cultural program. The historical heritage of Gwalior and Chambal division was promoted in it.

Box: Local women presented folk songs.

Women of Mitawali Padavali, trained under the Safe Tourist Places for Women project run by MP Tourism Board, presented the folk song Chunari mein lag gaya daag ri aisa chatak rang laya.... Basant rang ki chunari lao more saiyan..... Devki Pal, Sheela Pal, Girja Pal, Archana Katare presented the folk song.

On this occasion, Prof. Radha Tomar, co-coordinator Dr. PK Jain, Sanjay Malhotra, Deepa Dixit, Dr. Ankit Aggarwal, Dr. Krishna Narvariya, Dr. Neha Sharma, Dr. Kshipra Singh Chauhan along with students were present.
