The incidents of theft in the city have been revealed.

Madhavnagar police station has succeeded in arresting two accused of theft.

Goods of 07 incidents in Madhavnagar city area seized from the accused.

Gold-silver jewellery, mobile, cash worth about 06 lakh rupees seized from the accused.

Gulshan Paruthi | Ujjain | Superintendent of Police Ujjain had given instructions to arrest the accused of theft incidents in Ujjain city and recover the goods soon. In this regard, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police City (West) Ujjain Shri Guruprasad Parashar, Additional Superintendent of Police City (East) Shri Jayant Singh Rathore, under the leadership of City Superintendent of Police Section Madhavnagar Ujjain Mrs. Deepika Shinde, the team of Police Station Incharge Madhavnagar Rakesh Bharti has succeeded in arresting two accused. Both the accused carry out the incidents in different ways. Goods of 03 incidents from accused Jitesh and goods of 04 incidents from accused Rahul, whose estimated value is Rs 06 lakh, have been seized.

Brief description of the incident :-

On 19.05.2024, the complainant resident Dussehra Maidan, Ujjain had informed the Madhavnagar police station that an unknown person had entered his empty house through the window and stole the gold-silver jewellery and cash kept in the house, on which Madhavnagar police station registered a case against the unknown accused under crime number 292/2024 section 457,380 IPC and took it into investigation. After the incident, the team of police station in-charge Madhavnagar continuously watched the CCTV footage installed around the incident site, collected information regarding the incident from the nearby residents and activated informers to give information regarding the incident and the accused. On the information of the informer, the team has arrested the accused Jitesh alias Jai Kahar living near the crime scene and has succeeded in seizing the stolen goods in the incident, which includes gold and silver jewellery, iPhone mobile and cash. On interrogation, the accused has also admitted to committing two other crimes. The goods stolen in both the crimes have been seized from the accused. Accused Jayesh was fulfilling his lust by stealing to fulfill modern material comforts. The accused used to roam around in residential colonies and do recce and as soon as he saw a house closed, he used to enter it and commit theft and run away as soon as he got a chance.

1.Accused Jayesh alias Jai father Ganesh Kahar age 23 years resident- House No.- 19 Ram Krishna Colony, Street No.- 05 Dewas Road Ujjain, Police Station Madhav Nagar, Crime No. 93/2024, Section 457,380 IPC, 02 silver glasses estimated value Rs. 12,000/-, Crime No. 128/2024 Section 457,380 IPC, 01 gold necklace, 02 pair of silver anklets, 01 iPhone mobile, cash Rs. 50,000/- estimated total value Rs. 12,000/- Rs. 2,15,000/- Crime No. 292/2024 Section 457,380 IPC, 01 gold chain, 05 gold rings, one silver ring, cash Rs. 41 thousand. Estimated value is around Rs. 2,50,000/-.

In the same sequence, the team has also succeeded in arresting another accused Rahul Sisodia. The accused has admitted to stealing 01 motorcycle and committing 03 thefts in Ujjain city. Stolen goods, gold-silver jewellery and cash have been seized from the accused. Accused Rahul lives in Kartik Mela Ground, roams around the city selling garlands, rings etc., during this time he identifies empty houses by doing recce and commits theft.
