In the era of modernity, the hands of the land mafia are getting longer and they are filling them up and building luxurious buildings, and somewhere they have illegally occupied them by putting up tin sheds and thatched roofs. Despite this, due to a lack of administrative will and political maneuvering, illegal occupation is not being removed from these ponds, ponds and reservoirs. In such a situation, the existence of ponds and ponds is slowly coming to an end. Due to paper games, the ponds are vanishing completely.

According to the information, the same is the condition of the pond situated in village Dhaurahra Khurd of Tehsil Sadar Lakhimpur. The plot number of this pond is 321 and the area is about 15 bighas, but the village head and the regional lekhpal along with the concerned responsible people took a huge amount of money and got this big pond illegally occupied by constructing luxurious buildings, toilets, tin sheds, thatched roofs and boundary wall. Now this pond has shrunk to just a few bighas. According to the information, many luxurious buildings are standing on the land of this big pond. In a way, there is a race to occupy it. However, sometimes, there has been opposition to this as well. A bundle of complaints has reached from Thana Diwas to Tehsil Diwas. The officials have limited their responsibility to just running the paper horse.

However, the order of the Supreme Court is proving to be meaningless in the village of Dhaurahra Khurd. The Uttar Pradesh government had ordered the subordinates to remove the encroachments being done on ponds, lakes, and reservoirs, the responsibility of not allowing illegal encroachment on the land of ponds and gram sabha is of the Lekhpal Kanungo. Legal action should be taken against the encroachers and initiative should be taken to remove illegal encroachment. Villagers spoke on illegal encroachment on the pond.

On the condition of anonymity, the villager said that the pond located in Dhaurahra Khurd had a very large area in which water was always full, which has now come under the grip of encroachment, now there are beautiful buildings, toilets, tin sheds, thatched roofs and walls. People said that complaints of ponds being filled up were made to the administration from the tehsil level to the headquarters, but action was zero, due to which the morale of the encroachers is increasing, people said that there is a clear instruction of the government that the ponds of villages and towns should be maintained in any case, but the middlemen have divided them among themselves.

What did the responsible person say in the illegal pond encroachment case….

When the regional accountant Ram Surat was called in the illegal encroachment case on pond plot number 321 located in Dhaurahra Khurd village, his phone was switched off. When Naib Tehsildar Shirish Tripathi was called and informed about the illegal construction case, he said that the matter is very old, at present the accountant’s phone is out of order. I have informed the accountant. A year ago, I had gone to Dhaurahra Khurd and stopped the illegal pond construction. You can talk to the Tehsildar. When the Tehsildar Sadar Lakhimpur Sushil Pratap Singh was called, for some reason, the phone of the officer was not picked up. When information was sought from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sadar Ashwani Kumar Singh in the said case, he said that illegal construction on the pond is illegal. I am informing the concerned officials and taking legal action.

The villagers, on the condition of anonymity, said that the pond in Dhaurahra Khurd village is quite big, whose plot number is 321, which was around 15 bighas, which has now shrunk to less, although the current Pradhan Dhaurahra Khurd has also built a luxurious building by illegally constructing a pond, whose plot number is 325, although this is a matter of investigation by the Revenue Department.
