Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday increased the budget of the Ministry of Minority Affairs by more than 20 percent in the budget for the financial year 2024-25. District President of District Haj Committee Indore Rashid Sheikh has welcomed this. In the first budget of the third government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has increased the budget of the Ministry of Minority Affairs by more than 20 percent. This time in the Union Budget, a provision of allocation of Rs 3183.24 crore has been made for the Ministry of Minority Affairs. This is Rs 574.31 crore more than the revised budget of the last financial year.
Provision of crores for minority pre-matric scholarship.
District President of District Haj Committee Indore Rashid Sheikh said that all sections have been taken care of in the budget. In this budget, a provision of Rs 326.16 crore has been made for pre-matric scholarships for minority children and Rs 1145.38 crore for post-matric scholarships.
Educational empowerment of minorities was also taken care of.
The government has made a provision of Rs 1575.72 crore in the budget for the educational empowerment of minorities. A total provision of Rs 2120.72 crore has been made for the major scheme of the ministry. An allocation of Rs 910.90 crore has been made this time for ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram‘, one of the major programs of the ministry.
