The country’s successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the countrymen to celebrate the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan through the Mann Ki Baat program, along with this, he had launched a campaign to adopt Khadi and Handloom under “Vocal for Local” to promote the local weavers of the country.

This campaign was promoted under the leadership of Collector Neha Meena, under which Sakhi Tiranga Yatra was organized under the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.

Sakhi Tiranga Yatra was started by PM Shri Kanya Vidyalaya by Cabinet Minister Women and Child Development Department Ms. Nirmala Bhuria and Collector Neha Meena flagged off the Sakhi Tiranga Yatra along with the women. The journey concluded at Rajwada Chowk. The Cabinet Minister said that adopting Khadi and Handloom under Vocal for Local and told the women involved in the Tiranga Yatra that it is commendable that through such programs, women are participating in the festival of independence by showing respect to the brave women of the country. Collector All the women were thanked for coming in such large numbers and it was said that Madhya Pradesh is rich in Khadi and Handloom and is our responsibility to save these arts from extinction.

Tricolor Pledge:

Displaying the feeling of dedication and respect towards the Tricolor, the Cabinet Minister administered the Tricolor Pledge in which the women pledged to respect the Tricolor.

Awards:

Awards were given in various categories to the women participating in the Yatra. In which the best-dressed group was given to the women of the Sharda group who wore the famous handloom sarees of Kerala, the best-dressed youth was given to Ms. Isha Chauhan, the best-dressed mummy was given to Mrs. Kritika Mohta, the best-dressed grandmother was given to Mrs. Bharti Soni, best-dressed grandmother was given to Mrs. Prafulla Sharma. Along with this, the girl’s band of PM Shri Kanya Vidyalaya, students of Nursing College, women Sarpanchs who came from villages, various social organizations, sisters of Brahmakumaris and other women were honored.

Many women, groups of women Sarpanchs, various social organizations, sisters of Brahma Kumaris, women officers and employees, and journalists were present in the Yatra.
