  • Host Gwalior Police won the champion trophy along with hospitality.
  • Gwalior was the overall champion in the competition, which was the winner in basketball, volleyball, handball and runner-up in hockey, and football and Gwalior was also the champion in athletics.
  • Sagar district was the winner in hockey, football and kabaddi, securing second place in the overall competition.
  • The competition concluded with the tune of the police band and the twinkling light of firecrackers.

The 32nd Inter-District Sports Competition was organized in Gwalior from 20.07.2024 to 24.07.2024. Which was inaugurated today on 20.07.2024 at the Parade Ground located at Police Line Gwalior. In the said event, sports like athletics, hockey, volleyball, football, handball, basketball, wrestling, weightlifting and cross country were organized which concluded today. Gwalior district became the all-over champion in the sports competition and Sagar district got the second position. The said competition was concluded today on 23.07.2024 in the community hall of Police Line Gwalior in the dignified presence of Chief Guest Mr. Umesh Joga (IPS), Additional Director General of Police / Deputy Commissioner of Transport Gwalior and Special Guest Mr. Arvind Kumar Saxena (IPS), Inspector General of Police Gwalior Zone and Superintendent of Police Gwalior Mr. Dharamveer Singh (IPS). The chief guest and other guests present in the program were given caps and badges by Reserve Inspector Gwalior Mr. Ranjit Singh, after which the chief guest was introduced to the team managers and the guests were greeted by the police band.

On this occasion, Secretary Organizing Committee and Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharamvir Singh (Bapuse) gave his speech and read out the report regarding the games and told that teams from 08 districts participated in 10 games in the competition and the said competition was organized for four days in the good sports grounds of Gwalior. On this occasion, he said that the overall champion in the competition was Gwalior who got the first position in basketball, volleyball, and handball and was the runner-up in hockey and football. Apart from this, Gwalior was the champion in athletics. For this, he congratulated the Gwalior Police team. Sagar district remained second in the overall competition, which was the winner in hockey, football and kabaddi. He told the players present that we don’t need to win, you must come from your district and participate in various sports competitions. This will infuse a new energy in your mind towards sports. Superintendent of Police Gwalior congratulated all the players for successfully participating in the competition.

Inspector General of Police Gwalior Zone Shri Arvind Kumar Saxena (IPS) said in his address that all of you participated in the competition with sportsmanship and performed excellently, for which many congratulations to all of you. On this occasion, he said that such events develop the spirit of healthy competition and players become physically and mentally healthy. He said that the winners should give their best performance and set new records and bring glory to the police department.

Chief Guest Shri Umesh Joga (IPS), Additional Director General of Police/Transport Deputy Commissioner Gwalior, on this occasion, gave medals to the winners and runners-up players of various districts and presented the trophy to the team. He also felicitated the team manager and sports officials. He said in his address that while working in today’s stressful situation, it is a big thing for a policeman to take out time for sports. This makes a person physically and mentally healthy. On this occasion, he said that all of you have performed well by participating in the competition by practicing with limited resources while discharging your duty, for which all you players deserve congratulations. On this occasion, he congratulated all the officers for organizing the police sports competition grandly. In the end, the chief guest declared the 32nd inter-district sports competition closed.

At the end of the program, the police teams from different districts marched past and the flag of the 32nd inter-district sports competition was handed over to the chief guest by the team captain and the chief guest handed over the flag to the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior. Mementos were given to the guests present. In the end, as soon as the chief guest declared the closing of the sports competition, the competition concluded with the tune of the police band and the flickering light of firecrackers.

On the occasion of the closing of the sports competition, Additional Superintendent of Police Shiyaz K.M, Additional Superintendent of Police Niranjan Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Vardhman, Additional Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Rainwal, ASP Crime Mr. Ayush Gupta (Bapu Se), DSP Traffic Mr. Ajit Singh Chauhan, SDOP Behat Santosh Patel, Reserve Inspector Gwalior Ranjeet Singh Sikarwar, Subedar Anupam Bhadoria, Subedar Abhishek Raghuvanshi, Subedar Akhil Nagar, Subedar Bandana Rajawat, Subedar Prem Singh Rathore, District Sports Officer Gwalior Joseph Vakshala and police officers and employees were present.
