SP Gwalior held a meeting of Transport Association officials regarding the new law made by the Central Government for drivers.

Gwalior 01.01.2024. A meeting of the officials of the Transport Association protesting against the hit-and-run law of the Central Government was held today, January 1, 2024, by the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, Mr. Rajesh Singh Chandel, in his office.

The officials of the Transport Association, Bus Operators, and Petroleum Tanker Employees Vehicle Association present in the meeting were informed by the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, regarding the new law made by the Central Government for the drivers, and they were told that no truck driver or vehicle driver can If a driver runs away after hitting a person, then he will come under the purview of the said law, and if a driver moves away from the accident spot and reaches the police station, informs Dial 100, or takes the person injured in the accident to the hospital, then his punishment will be Rs. Deductions can be made.

He said that this law has been made with the aim of saving the life of the person injured in the accident by sympathizing with him; the said law is not against the interest of the driver. In the meeting, the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, also discussed with the officials the anger that is being created among the drivers under the Hit and Run law and the jam situation that persists in the outskirts of the city, and the officials of the association also asked their drivers to take action against them. I was asked to give advice.

In the meeting, DSP Headquarters Mr. Ashok Singh Jadaun, in-charge DSB Gwalior Inspector Mr. Umesh Mishra, and transport and bus operators of the city, including Mr. Sunil Maheshwari, Director of Mahavir Transport, Mr. Palvinder Singh Sandhu, Director of Sandhu Transport, and Transport Director Mr. Rajiv Modi, ATS, were present. Transport Director Mr. Vicky Yadav, N.K. Road Line Mr. Rahees Khan, Prakash Wadwani, and bus operator Mr. Padam Gupta, Mr. Harishankar Singh Patel, Mr. Guddu Bhatele, and President of the Petroleum Tanker Employees Vehicle Association Vijay Sharma, Miscellaneous Union President Mr. Adesh Yadav, Travel Operator Mr. Rinku Yadav, etc. were present.

Appeal to the general public: Gwalior Police appeals to everyone that the legal amendments and penalties made by the Central Government in accident cases have been done with the aim of saving the life of the person injured in the accident. In case of an accident, the driver should make every possible effort to provide medical care to the injured person instead of running away from the spot. Therefore, there is an appeal to all the drivers not to take the law into their own hands during the protest against the said law and adopt the legal process to express their views.
