Police have arrested a gang of 3 people from West Bengal who were cheating people online by activating fake SIMs.

Gulshan Paruthi | Ujjain | Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma said that information was received from the informer that Akshay Tirwar, a resident of New Indira Nagar Nagjhiri and Sadiq Khan, a resident of Kannod district, Dewas, were involved in online fraud and cyber fraud by fraudulently activating the SIM in the name of other persons. They are standing near the planetarium gate to earn illegal profit by selling seams to three persons from West Bengal.

On information, Nanakheda police surrounded and caught 5 boys and on asking their names, they told their names as Akshay Tirwar, Sadiq Khan, Sheikh Mahibul resident of West Bengal, Baban Khan resident of West Bengal and Sajan Khan. During interrogation, the accused confessed to buying and selling fake SIMs.

The accused told the police that they had purchased 70 SIMs from Akshay Tirwar, while Akshay told the police that he had brought the said SIM from Nagda, a resident of Monty. The police have registered a case under the IT Act and started interrogating the accused.
