Police became active as soon as Lok Sabha election code of conduct was imposed.

Continuous action is being taken against illegal activities.

In line with its commitment to conduct peaceful and fair conduct of Lok Sabha elections 2024, police is continuously taking action in Indore (Rural) zone. I.G. Under the direction of Indore (Rural) Anurag and under the leadership of Deputy Inspector General of Police Indore (Rural) Range Nimish Aggarwal and Deputy Inspector General of Police Nimad Range Atul Singh, the police organized border meetings in coordination with the border states, establishment of inter-state checkpoints and illegal liquor. Criminal and restrictive action against illegal weapons, drugs and other activities is being taken continuously since the date of implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.

In this sequence, 54 border meetings have been organized from the Inspector General of Police (IG) level to the police station in-charge level, while coordinating with the border states adjoining Indore zone. In this meeting, inter-state checkpoints have been established for mutual coordination, joint police operations, exchange of lists of various warrants and checking. 68 warrantees have been caught by the zonal police and handed over to the border states.

Actions taken by the police in the last 44 days from the date of implementation of the Code of Conduct from 16.03.2024 to 28.04.2024.

(1) Rs 3 crore 80 lakh. Seizure of illegal liquor. 2053 accused were arrested.

(2) 07 illegal arms manufacturing factories were demolished and 683 illegal weapons were seized.

(3) 93 kg worth more than Rs 75 lakh. Caught silver.

(4) While checking at interstate checkpoints, cash worth Rs 1.5 crore and other material worth Rs 2 crore were seized.

(5) While running a campaign against goons and miscreants, 25780 goons were bound over, 212 were killed in Badar district.

(6) Seizure of 7774 warranties. The bounty hunters who had been absconding for years were put behind bars.

(7) Rs 06 crore. The free gifts were caught by FST, SST and police forces.

Liquor mafia arrested – During the said period, about 1.75 lakh liters of illegal liquor worth Rs 05 crore has been seized in the zone. In which a total of 72,776.8 liters of country liquor, worth Rs 1.20 crore and 1,01,627.5 liters of foreign liquor, worth Rs 3.80 crore. A total of 36 vehicles including trucks, pickup vehicles, cars, etc. were seized while transporting illegal liquor and 2053 accused have been arrested.

Action on organized crimes of Sikligars – District Dhar, Khargone, Burhanpur and Barwani raided 07 arms manufacturing factories of Sikligars and seized about 200 fire arms and a large quantity of arms manufacturing material. In the last 44 days, 683 illegal weapons have been seized by the police.

Action against hooligans and miscreants – During the Code of Conduct period, preventive action was taken against a total of 33576 persons and 25780 persons were bound over. NSA order for 09 persons was made. During the said period, District Badar order was issued for 212 new people and the District Badar period is currently effective on 232 people. In this way a total of 444 persons were displaced from the district. A total of 7774 warrantees were caught while arresting permanent, absconding and arrest warrants. Illegal transportation and activities are being monitored by checking vehicles at interstate police points. At present, all 57 checkpoints are active in 6 districts of the zone, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Khandwa, Barwani and Burhanpur, out of which 21 checkpoints are covered by CCTV. A total of Rs 3 crore 48 lakh 74 thousand 841 has been collected so far at these points. Was confiscated.

Inspector General of Police Shri Anurag is continuously directing all the Superintendents of Police of the zone for effective policing and peaceful conduct of Lok Sabha elections.
