Key Road Connecting India-Nepal Border Broken for Four Years, Farmers and Tourists Both Displeased

The main road connecting the India-Nepal border, which was damaged in a flood four years ago, remains unrepaired and neglected. The broken road is causing problems for farmers and has adversely affected tourists and traders traveling between Nepal and India. This route connects Nighasan tehsil of Lakhimpur Kheri to Tikunia, Banbirpur, and finally to Khakrola in Nepal. This road also passes through the ancestral village of former state Home Minister Ajay Mishra Teni, Banbirpur.

Many travelers have suffered injuries while passing through this broken road. Residents of villages such as Ganganagar, Rannagar, Darabhoji, Indarnagar, and Suratnagar are facing issues in transporting their crops, children’s education, and other daily activities due to the damaged road.

The route also leads to the SSB’s Khakrola post stationed at the border, highlighting its significance for national securit The villagers demand that the government take immediate action to repair the road, providing relief to them and the SSB personnel deployed for the country’s security, as well as other travelers using this route.
