Police caught three bookies from Mohana Road who were betting on IPL cricket online through mobile.

Rs 17,500/- in cash, 04 mobile phones and a Hero Deluxe motorcycle were seized from the arrested bookie.

IPC 109 action against the merchant who provided ID.

Bureau Chif Sandeep Shukla | Gwalior | Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharamvir Singh, BHP has directed all the police station in-charges of the district to take effective action by running a campaign against the bookies who are betting online on IPL cricket. In pursuit of the above instructions, Gwalior Police received information from an informer today on 05.04.2024 that a person is standing on a motorcycle on Mohana Road under Mohana police station area and betting online on the ongoing IPL cricket match between Gujarat vs Punjab. Senior officers were informed about the above information, on which SP Gwalior informed Senior Superintendent of Police City (East/Traffic/Crime) Mr. Shiaz K.M., BHP and Additional Superintendent of Police City (West) Mr. Gajendra Vardhaman is making the joint team of Crime Branch and Police Station Mohana play betting by putting pressure on winning or losing on IPL cricket. Instructed to take action against bookies.

In compliance with the instructions of senior officers, under the able guidance of ASP Crime Mr. Ayush Gupta, BHP, DSP Crime Mr. Nagendra Singh Sikarwar and SDOP Ghotigaon Mr. Shekhar Dubey, Police Station Incharge Crime Inspector Ajay Singh Panwar and Police Station Incharge Mohana Inspector Rashid Khan, under the able guidance of Crime Branch and The joint team of police station Mohana force was sent to Mohana Road, the place mentioned by the informer, for action. When the police team went to Mohana Road, they saw three boys driving mobile phones near a black motorcycle, who tried to run away after seeing the police team, but all three boys were surrounded and caught by the police team. On asking the names and addresses of the three arrested boys, they identified themselves as (1) Akash Kode, son of Jagdish Kode, resident of Jatav Mohalla, Mohana, (2) Dharmendra Sharma, son of Chand Prakash Sharma, resident of Shivhare Colony, Mohana, (3) Amit Batham, son of Banwari Batham, resident of Shivhare Colony. Said to be resident of Mohana. After searching the three boys caught by the police team, Rs 7500 in cash and two mobile phones were found from Akash, which when opened and checked, 1EXCH Agent ID was found open in the Chrome browser of the mobile. 05 thousand rupees in cash and a mobile of Vivo company were found from the second boy Dharmendra Sharma and 05 thousand rupees and a mobile of Oppo company were found from the third boy Amit Batham. The three boys were found betting online on the Gujarat vs Punjab IPL match. When the three boys caught by the police team were interrogated regarding betting, Dharmendra Sharma and Amit Batham admitted to getting them to bet online on the ongoing IPL cricket match between Gujarat vs Punjab through Akash Kode. From which the police team duly seized Rs. 17500/- in cash, 04 mobile phones and Hero Deluxe motorcycle from the possession of the three bookies and registered FIR against all three in Mohana police station under Section 4(a) Public Gambling Act and Section 109. Bhadvi’s case was registered and taken up for investigation.

Mashrooka recovered: Rs 17500/- cash, 04 mobile Hero Deluxe motorcycle number MP-07-NJ-6529 were dully seized. Total seized Mashrooka was Rs 1 lakh 27 thousand 500.
