Beggary prevention campaign continues to make Indore district child beggar free

Indore Geetkar Damodar Virmal:- As per the instructions given by Collector Shri Ashish Singh, 07 joint teams of different departments have been formed to make the district free from child beggars. The above formed parties are continuously running a campaign to prevent child beggary at various intersections and religious places in Indore district.

District Program Officer, Women and Child Development Department said that under the campaign, a campaign to prevent beggary was conducted by the formed parties on Thursday also. In which a total of 101 Pandits, Maulvis and common people and 13 families, parents and 02 children were advised by the team members not to beg and if found begging again, they were booked under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and the amended Act. Was informed about the provision of action under Section 76 (1) of 2021. In which information was provided that the culprit will be punished with imprisonment of up to five years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Simultaneously, one girl was given admission in the institution Government Child Protection Ashram, Indore and one boy was given admission in the institution Lok Biradari Trust Arman Indore on the orders of Child Welfare Committee, District Indore. So far, 477 people have been advised by the parties not to beg and 13 children have been taken into custody.
