- Police took action against the accused and his accomplices who implicated enemies in a false case by shooting himself in the leg due to old enmity.
- The pistol used in the incident along with one live round and a motorcycle were seized from the accused.
Brief description of the incident:-
A youth was injured by a bullet at the Phoolbagh intersection under the Thana Padav area. On receiving the information of the said incident, the Padav police immediately reached the spot and the injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment. Where the youth said that his name was Monu Rawat alias Jaibhan Rawat son of Brahmanand Rawat resident of BTI Road Sabalgarh Morena and he was going on a bike with his friends Tasu Shakya and Vivek Mishra. Then Sanjay and Vijay Shakya came and shot him to kill him. The bullet hit his leg and he got injured. Prima facie, the Padav police reached the spot thinking it to be a case of attempted murder and investigated. Some facts did not match with the statements of the injured Monu, due to which the Padav police found the incident suspicious. The information was given to the senior officers by the station in-charge Padav. On coming to know about the incident, Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharamveer Singh, IPS directed Additional Superintendent of Police City (Central) Shri Akhilesh Rainwal to take action after closely investigating the incident from the station Padav police.

In compliance with the instructions of senior officers, under the able guidance of CSP Inderganj Shri Ashok Singh Jadoun, the station in-charge Padav Inspector Ila Tandon deployed the team of police force to closely investigate the said case and take action. During the investigation, when the police team checked the CCTV cameras around the incident site, Monu and his friends were seen near the incident site. When the police team gathered information about Sanjay and Vijay Shakya, they were not found to be in Gwalior.
When the police team questioned injured Monu’s friend Tasu who was seen in the CCTV footage, there was some difference in the statements of injured Monu and Tasu. When Tasu was questioned thoroughly by the police team, he told that on the day of the incident, he was sitting with Monu Rawat on Vivek Mishra’s motorcycle near Phoolbagh. At that time, Monu Rawat shot himself in the leg with an illegal country-made pistol that he had with him and told me to run away with this pistol and a live round, I will report the shooting against my opponents Vijay and Sanjay Shakya. Monu threw the empty cartridge in the sewer line gutter. As per his instructions, both of us fled from the spot with the motorcycle, then I hid the pistol in the bushes next to the boundary of the powerhouse on Kilagate Road and went away with the motorcycle with Vivek Mishra. The police team duly confiscated the pistol and a live round used in the incident from near Bijli Ghar on Kilagate Road on the information of Tasu. Tasu Shakya was arrested for possessing an illegal pistol and the said act was under Section 25,27 of the Arms Act. When the police team searched for the third accomplice Vivek Mishra involved in the said incident at his residence in Kilagate, he was not found at home. Vivek Mishra was caught on Tansen Road by the police team on the information of an informer. During interrogation, he accepted that he was driving the motorcycle at the time of the incident. The police team duly confiscated the motorcycle used in the incident from the accused Vivek Mishra. During the investigation, the Padwa police found that the injured youth Monu alias Jaibhan Rawat had an old rivalry with Sanjay and Vijay Shakya. Monu alias Jaibhan Rawat, due to enmity, shot himself in the leg to implicate his opponents and along with his friends, tried to mislead the police by hatching a false conspiracy of the said incident. On which the police team registered a case against the three accused Monu alias Jaibhan Rawat, Tasu Shakya, and Vivek Mishra in Thana Padav under Crime No. 336/24 Section 109,229,125,240 BNS-2023, 25/27 Arms Act and took it into the investigation. Gwalior Police is taking strict action against those who conspire to trap enemies by shooting themselves after Khalasa. This is the fifth case in three months, in which action has been taken against those who shot themselves. Such action will continue in the future as well. So far, action has been taken in two cases in Hajira police station, one each in Maharajpura and Gola Ka Mandir police station.
Arrested accused:-
(1) Monu Rawat alias Jaibhan Rawat son Brahmanand Rawat resident BTI Road Sabalgarh District Morena.
(2) Tasu Shakya son of Chhaggan Lal Shakya resident of BTI Road Sabalgarh District Morena.
(3) Vivek Mishra son of Medai Mohalla Kilagate District Gwalior.
Recovered Material:- Pistol used in the incident with one live round and one motorcycle seized.
