Workshop organized to raise awareness regarding human trafficking and to promote the rights of victims of trafficking.
World Anti-Human Trafficking Day is celebrated every year on 30th July to raise awareness regarding human trafficking and to promote and protect the rights of victims of trafficking. In this connection, a one-day workshop was organized today in the Police Control Room Auditorium Gwalior by the Women’s Branch of Police Headquarters Bhopal. The workshop organized in Gwalior was conducted in the presence of the Inspector General of Police Gwalior Zone Shri Arvind Kumar Saxena (IPS), Inspector General of Police Women Security Branch Police Headquarters Bhopal Smt. Himani Khanna (IPS), Deputy Inspector General of Police Gwalior Range Smt. Krishnaveni Desavatu (IPS), Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharamveer Singh (IPS), ADM Gwalior Smt. Anju Arun Kumar and Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Shri Niranjan Sharma. On this occasion, the police officers present were made aware of the nuances and laws of human trafficking by the experts from Bhopal.




At the beginning of the workshop, the senior police officers present were welcomed by giving them saplings. After that, DSP Women Security Mrs. Kiran Ahirwar informed the police officers present about the outline of the workshop. After that, Mrs. Himani Khanna (Bapuse), Inspector General of Police, Women Security Branch, Police Headquarters Bhopal informed the police officers present about what human trafficking is and what its purpose and on the occasion of World Anti-Human Trafficking Day, the participants present were also sworn in to prevent human trafficking. In the workshop, Inspector General of Police, Gwalior Zone said that human trafficking and labor trafficking have become a global problem and preventing this problem is a huge challenge. There are strict laws to prevent human trafficking, only effective implementation of the law is necessary. New laws have also been made to prevent it in the new law implemented from 01 July.







On this occasion, Deputy Inspector General of Police Gwalior Range said in his address that today is a very important day but many people in our country do not know much about human trafficking it is a very sensitive subject and such crimes are not acceptable in our society at all because in such crimes small children are made bonded laborers to work. Often we see small children working in factories and industries which is illegal whereas that child has the right to go to school and study. If any child is seen working or any kind of human trafficking is detected then the police should take immediate action. The police are constantly trying to prevent such crimes against human trafficking. ADM Gwalior, present on this occasion, said that all the agencies should coordinate together against human trafficking and try to prevent it and the general public should also be made aware of the prevention and protection of such crimes and their participation should also be necessary. Everyone will have to participate to prevent such acts, only then effective action can be taken against it. Psychology practitioner Alok Benjamin and his team members Vikram Ashok and Piyali Mukherjee gave detailed information about human trafficking to the police officers present in the workshop and the students of the Psychology Department from Amity University through activities and presentations and answered the questions of the police officers and participants present in the workshop and solved their problems.
At the end of the workshop, mementos were presented to the Inspector General of Police Gwalior Zone, Inspector General of Police Women Security Branch Police Headquarters Bhopal Mrs. Himani Khanna (Bapu Se) and Psychology practitioner Alok Benjamin and his team.
