Indian Journalism Festival inaugurated under the chief hospitality of Karnataka Governor

The three-day Indian Journalism Festival of State Press Club Madhya Pradesh started with joy in the Net Auditorium. Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot participated as a special guest in the festival. Special guest Maharshi Uttam Swami Maharaj, MLA Satish Malviya, social worker Hemendra Matlani, State Press Club Madhya Pradesh President Praveen Kumar Khariwal lit the lamp.

In his keynote address, Governor Gehlot said that Indore has been a stronghold of journalism, where journalists have given journalism a new height with their hard work and talent. This is the reason why the writings of Indore journalists are taken seriously in the country. The simplicity of eminent journalist Rahul Barpute, the idiomatic language of Prabhash Joshi, the political analysis of Rajendra Mathur, the witty satire of Sharad Joshi, the grip of Ved Pratap Vaidik in international politics and the language of journalists like Abhay Chhajlani still inspire us. However, journalism in India has a glorious history. Gehlot called upon all journalists to do positive journalism in the society. He said that journalism has played an important role in making India developed.

Gehlot mentioned various schemes being run by the government for journalists. In his address, Uttam Swami said that journalists should strongly expose those ostentation and superstitions and further said that Indore is not only the industrial capital of the state but also the capital of media, hence a huge university of media should be built here. Khariwal told that the Journalism Festival was started in the year 2009 and this is the 16th year. Hundreds of journalists and research students from Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi, U.P., Maharashtra etc. are participating in this festival. Guests were welcomed by Rachna Johri, Sudesh Gupta, Nilesh Khare, Asif Shah. Mementoes were given to the guests by Sandeep Joshi, Sheetal Rai, Pradeep Singh Rao. The program was conducted by State Press Club President Praveen Kumar Khariwal. Akash Chouksey expressed his gratitude.
