A one day Basic Life Support Workshop was organized in Government Medical College Datia under the aegis of Datia Academy of Pediatrics. In this workshop, 40 medical postgraduate students and doctors from various faculties were trained to save lives by giving basic life support on artificial mannequins for the resuscitation of a person who has suddenly fainted in emergency situations and whose breathing or heartbeat has stopped.

For training, national level faculty was present in the workshop in which Dr. Rashmi Gupta, Dr. Ajay Upadhyay, Dr. Praveen Garg Gwalior, Dr. Om Shankar Chaurasia Jhansi and Dr. Rajesh Gupta from Datia participated for training. In this workshop, postgraduate students of Government Medical College Datia and Gwalior participated and received training in providing emergency medical services, which included giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in case of sudden stoppage of breathing or heartbeat of a person, bringing back heartbeat by chest compression and providing emergency medical facilities to children and adults in case of breathing blockage due to something getting stuck in the throat.

During the training, Dr Vivek Verma, Dr Pradeep Upadhyay, Dr Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Dr Puneet Agarwal, Dr Sachin Singh Yadav etc were present in the inaugural session. Dean Dr Deepak Singh Marawi congratulated the successful organization of the workshop and hoped that after the training, the doctors will be able to provide emergency services to the needy patients with more expertise. In the end, workshop coordinator Dr Rajesh Gupta, head of the pediatrics department, thanked all the other members of the team including Dr Manish Ajmeria, Dr Jagram Manjhi, Dr Vinay Pateria, Dr P Haritha, Priyanka, Pratik, Aditya, Sahiba Khan for the successful organization of the workshop.
