Jaipur, Rajasthan (Rajesh Verma):- The Supreme Court was surprised to see the attitude of the police towards a 14-year-old girl, a witness in the murder case in Rajasthan. During the hearing of a bail case, when the court read the statement of the girl, it came to light how the police beat her up to make her falsely confess to the murder of her mother. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuiyan directed the state Director General of Police (DGP) to take administrative and criminal action in the matter after investigation. The apex court gave this order after hearing the appeal challenging the Rajasthan High Court’s order rejecting the bail plea of the accused in this case. During the hearing on the appeal, when the court saw the documents of five prosecution witnesses, it was shocked at the girl’s allegations against the police officers.
