Police is running Operation Helping Hand for women in MP, this way they will get the right to subsistence allowance

Bhopal Gulshan Paruthi The Women’s Safety Branch of the police has launched Operation Helping Hand to provide justice to women victims of domestic violence. Under this, summons-warrants issued by the court in maintenance cases under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure are being served.

Madhya Pradesh Police is taking a step to bring the husbands who are avoiding paying maintenance within the ambit of the law, despite the order of the Bhopal Court, which is proving to be a helping hand for women. Summons warrants related to Section 125 issued for maintenance are a major step towards getting maintenance for women, but sometimes due to law and order situation, they lag behind in the priority order. In such a situation, it is implemented on first priority under Operation Helping Hand.

Under the campaign run twice a year under the direction of the Women’s Branch of the Police Headquarters, till now 12 thousand 744 summons-warrants have been served in the state. This year the campaign has started again from February 1, which will continue till February 29. Under this, more than 500 such warrants have been served till February 10. Under this, summons-warrants issued by the court in maintenance cases under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure are being served. Five phases of Operation Helping Hand, which was started from the year 2021, have been completed so far.

Victim women do not have to wait for maintenance. Under the direction of DGP Sudhir Saxena and ADG Women Safety Pragya Richa Srivastava, the sixth phase of the campaign has started from February 1, which will continue till February 29. This innovation has been done by the Women Safety Branch of the police to provide justice to women suffering from domestic violence. In the case filed under Section 125, the summon-warrant issued from the court is served through the efforts of police stations and women’s desks across the state.

It is noteworthy that due to delay in court due to non-serving of warrant, victimized women have to wait for months for maintenance. These districts performed excellently. In the first phase of Operation Helping Hand, maximum number of summons/warrants were served in Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Guna, Betul and Niwari districts. Similarly, in the second phase, maximum summons/warrants were served in Mandla, Khargone, Gwalior, Sheopur, Anuppur districts. In the third phase, maximum warrants were served in Chhatarpur, Seoni, Jhabua, Indore, Chhindwara, in the fourth phase, Jhabua, Chhindwara, Shivpuri, Sehore, Narmadapuram and in the fifth phase, maximum warrants were served in Ujjain, Gwalior, Bhopal, Indore and Rajgarh districts.
