Textbooks were distributed among 47 meritorious students.

Atmanand Singh | Lakhisarai | Lions Club provided text books to 47 meritorious students from economically weaker sections in a ceremony held on Saturday at Lions Club located in Purani Bazar Naya Tola of the city. DM Rajnikant, who was present as the chief guest in the program organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Praveen Kumar Sinha, distributed text books among the students. Dr. Sinha said that Lions Club had started a scholarship scheme for higher education by supporting meritorious students from economically weaker sections three years ago. The institution has adopted 47 students from the ninth class of Mahila Vidya Mandir High School located in Purani Bazar of the city. All the students passed 11th.

Among the selected students, more than 90 percent of the students scored 80 percent in the 10th examination and more than 20 students have brought laurels to the district. The girls were given 12th class text books, shoes, socks, school dress and annual school fees as per their need. DM Rajnikant said that today is a day of pride for the district. The initiative started by the club to educate and empower economically weak talented girl students is a noble deed. The initiative of helping the girl students financially and promoting them with the help of Lions Club will prove to be a milestone in the direction of women empowerment. This will give wings to their dreams. Rajendra Singhania, Arvind Kumar Bharti, Prof. Manoranjan Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar Snehi, Vijay Banka, Premchand Kumar, Gautam Giriyage, Vibhas Kumar Chaudhary and Ranjan Kumar along with others were present on the occasion.
