Garba festival was organized with great pomp at Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Gwalior today on 5.10.2024.
The main objective of this event was to develop cultural understanding among the students and promote their all-round development by connecting them with Indian traditions. With the right coordination of academic and cultural activities, this program will prove to be an important initiative towards the mental, physical and social development of the students.
Miss Suman Yashveer Sharma, BJP State Committee Mahila Morcha, State Minister and Dr. Sandeepa Malhotra, Chairperson Child Welfare Committee, Gwalior were present as special guests in the program. Prestige Institute has always given importance to cultural events along with its academic programs. Such events not only develop cultural understanding in the students, but they also remain connected to their roots and traditions. Along with academic development, the institute aims to build the overall personality of the students, where they can get the right balance of both education and culture. At the end of the program, the people present enjoyed the celebration by playing Garba collectively.
Various teachers, staff and students of the institute were present in this event, who thoroughly enjoyed the fun and gaiety of Garba. Garba Utsav is a symbol of academic and cultural advancement of Prestige Institute, which reflects the excellence and diversity of the institute.
In his address, the Director of the Institute, Dr. Nishant Joshi said, Prestige Institute has always been organizing such activities for its students, which promote cultural values ??along with academic excellence. Garba Utsav is not only a cultural program, but it is also a great medium to connect students with our Indian traditions. Such programs enhance the spirit of social harmony and cooperation among the students.
On this occasion, Deputy Director Dr. Tarika Singh Sikarwar said, cultural activities are an important part of the personality development of students. Traditional events like Garba teach students the qualities of creativity, discipline and leadership. Our aim is to prepare students for the global stage by connecting them to their cultural roots.
More than 350 students from various departments of the institute participated enthusiastically in this event. The students displayed dedication and enthusiasm by playing Garba and Dandiya to the tune of traditional music. The students made the whole atmosphere lively by wearing colorful costumes and shiny jewelry. During the program, a Dandiya competition was also organized among the participants, in which the winners were felicitated. All the groups of contestants were evaluated by Dr. Navita Nathani, Dr. Amrapali Sapra and Dr. Praveen Aronkar. This Garba Mahotsav was sponsored by Shraddha Dresses.
This Navratri Garba Mahotsav was organized by the Sahitya Prabha Club of the institute.
Coordinators of the Garba program were Associate Professor Mayuri Joshi and Associate Professor Sonam Singh, and Dr. Gaurav Jaiswal was the teacher.
