Jyas Foundation celebrated International Girl-Child Day 2024 at Gitanjali Auditorium, Delhi Public Liabarary (HQ) Delhi , along with it principal partners National Service Scheme (NSS) of Delhi University and K R Mangalam University and also it’s sub organisers Gyan Aarmbh Educational Trust, Life Changing Educational and Charitable Trust, Geeta Charitable Foundation, Hope Ek A.S.H.A. and Health Partner Navneesh Dental Clinic. Jaya Yadav Chairperson Jyas Foundation delivered the welcome speech.
The programme was organised with the media partnership of Motherland Voice Dainik Hindi Newspaper and illustrated Daily News.
While inaugurating the celebration Vijay Gaur CEO of Jyas Foundation/ Bureau Chief Illustrated Daily News told that the international day of girl child focuses attention on the need to address the challenges Girls face and to promote girls’ empowerments and the fulfilment of their Human rights. He also added that it is really a matter of prideful moment for all the participants for the benign presence of President Police Medal Awardee Renu Lata Assistant Commissioner of Police Delhi Police.
In the presidential address of the celebration Dr Shikha Dutt Sharma IQAC Coordinator KR Mangalam University spoke on the theme “Girls’ Vision for the Future” highlighting the need for action , hope and the power of girls’ voices to shape a better future.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Special Police Unit for Women and Children Renu Lata told that the Special Police Unit for Women and Children has been continuously making efforts to empower women and create a sense of confidence, legal awareness amongst them and to address their grievances. To boost their Self Confidence, Self Defence training programmes are held for School & College students, housewives, RWA’s etc. The girls are being trained how to make use of things like Dupatta, Pen & Handbags to protect themselves from attacks by anti-social elements, chain or bag snatching, criminal assault etc.
K.P. Singh Inspector Delhi Police told about the prevention of cyber crime against women and girls and Tejasvi Goel Advocate of DLSA (Central District) highlighted the role of DLSA for providing the free legal aid to the Women and girls and other eligible group of the society.
On this occasion Vijay Gaur facilitated by presenting Shaal, Medal and Memento of National Women Leadership Award 2024 to President Police Medal Awardee Assistant Commissioner of Police Special Police Unit for Women and Children Renu Lata and Dr Shikha Dutt Sharma IQAC Coordinator KR Mangalam University for their outstanding valuable services in the society.
