Mahavir International, a reputed institution engaged in service through more than 350 branches in India in various fields including social welfare, animal welfare, health, education, medicine, women empowerment, environmental protection and water conservation with the ideals of 'love for all', 'service to all' and 'live and let live', was awarded the Prithvi Puraskar 2024 in a program organized by ESG Research Foundation in New Delhi. This award has been given to the organization for working with complete transparency, working for the welfare of all its employees and beneficiaries and reducing carbon emissions by working in the field of environment in the country.
CA Veer Anil Jain, International President of Mahavir International received the above award on behalf of the organization. Veer Ravindra Kumar Jain, International Director of Environmental Protection and Other Services, was present on this occasion. Veer Anil Jain said that we are in our golden jubilee year, we are serving various cities and towns of India through many important service works like e-chaupal, Dosti Se Seva Ki Aur, Kapda Ki Bag, Meri Saheli, Vatsalya Project. It is noteworthy that Environment Social and Governance (ESG) meets all three standards. Chief guest of the award distribution ceremony was former cabinet minister Suresh Prabhu, special guest former vice-chairman of NITI Aayog Rajiv Kumar, Chairman of GAIL India Sandeep Gupta, CEO of Central Bank of India M V Rao, environmental activist and film actor Vivek Anand Oberoi, ERF founder and director Atul Kumar Gupta, Deepak Batra and Praveen Garg congratulated Mahavir International for this achievement.
The Global ESG Conference was organized throughout the day before this award distribution program organized at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi. In this, representatives of many banks and industry organizations including Dr. Justice Vineet Kothari, Federation of Indian Industries Director General Deepak Jain, former CMD of Canara Bank Rajiv Kishore Dubey presented their views on ESG.
It is worth noting that ESG Global Conference was organized to reduce carbon footprint in India, achieve the target of net zero by 2070, to do timely and unbiased reporting by all small and big industries, to work for the health and overall welfare of their employees, to provide high quality products to customers and to motivate and create awareness to make all arrangements of their company in an environment friendly manner. It was told that any industry should make its own plans and operate it keeping in mind profit, public and planet. Federation of Indian Industries Director General Deepak Jain said that for environment friendly technology upgrade in small industries, to reach the target of net zero in carbon emissions, at least 5 lakh crore rupees of fund will be required, the government should help in this.
