Many opposition parties including Congress are opposing the amendment to the Waqf Board Act. Now Youth Congress spokesperson Shahbaz Alam Qureshi has strongly targeted the government by opposing the amendment to the Waqf Board Act. He said that the central government is constantly raising questions on the properties of the Waqf Board, due to which the intention of the government does not seem right.

Spokesperson Shahbaz Alam said that this bill violates the fundamental right to religious freedom under Article 25. He said that through this, the ownership rights on Waqf lands will be changed. In this way, this bill violates the basic structure of the Constitution.
