Celebrate Ganesh Utsav, Milad-un-Nabi, Mother Maryam's birth anniversary, Navdurga Mahotsav, Dussehra and Diwali and other festivals in the district with peace and harmony. An appeal to this effect was made to the people of the district through the district-level peace committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan. The peace committee has requested the city residents not to use single use polythene during all festivals and also take special care of cleanliness. Information about the places identified for immersion of idols was also given in the peace committee meeting.

In the meeting held in the Collectorate auditorium on Saturday, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Aman Vaishnav, Additional Collector Mrs. Anju Arun Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Siyaz K.M. and ADM Mr. T.N. Singh and officials of the District Administration, Police, Municipal Corporation and other related departments including members of the Peace Committee were present. In the meeting, the members of the Peace Committee were told to cover the pandals of Ganeshotsav and Navdurga Utsav with tin etc. at a height of at least 6 feet, so that cattle etc. cannot enter it. Put volunteers on duty 24 hours a day in the pandal premises and provide their list to the concerned police station. During festivals, pandals should not be set up under electric wires and near transformers.

The Collector and Additional Superintendent of Police said that religious processions should be taken out traditionally from the prescribed route and prior permission must be taken for it. Also, to take out the procession in a systematic manner, the organizers must deploy volunteers and provide their list to the nearest police station. In the meeting, it was told that the concerned SDM will give permission for taking out processions in the same subdivision. If the area is of more than one subdivision, permission can be taken from the Additional District Magistrate. Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Siyaz K.M. assured in the meeting of the peace committee that there will be strong security arrangements to maintain law and order during all the festivals. All the religious people should cooperate in maintaining peace and celebrate all the festivals with enthusiasm, excitement and mutual brotherhood. In the meeting, the members of the peace committee gave their important suggestions on this occasion.

Big idols will be immersed in Khurari reservoir.

In the meeting of the peace committee, it was informed that this year Sagartal has been cleaned and there is no water in it. Therefore, this time Khurari reservoir located in Murar has been designated for immersion of big idols of Lord Ganesha i.e. idols larger than two feet. For immersion of idols smaller than two feet, a temporary reservoir will be built near Huravali on the banks of Murar river. Along with this, idols smaller than two feet can also be immersed in the small pond located at the corner of Katorataal. To immerse Ganesh idols installed in homes, immersion vehicles run by the Municipal Corporation and public cooperation will roam around the city. Pure water will be kept in large tanks in these vehicles. Along with security arrangements at the immersion site of big idols, divers of SDRF will also be deployed. Members of the peace committee will also appeal to the people in their respective areas to immerse the idols with safety and caution.

Take special care of cleanliness during religious events.

Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan said that the organizers should also take special care of cleanliness in the Bhandaar held during religious events. She directed the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to make strong arrangements for cleanliness and drinking water in the city during all festivals including Ganesh Mahotsav and Milad-un-Nabi. She also said that cleanliness should also be done in the places of worship. Officials of the electricity distribution company were instructed to keep uninterrupted supply of electricity during the festivals.
