School bus checking campaign in compliance with the guidelines of the Hon’ble Supreme CourtA school bus checking campaign was conducted to ensure compliance with the guidelines set by the Hon'ble Supreme Court, prioritizing student safety.

The traffic police checked school vehicles and took challan action against vehicles not following the guidelines.

11 vans were seized when they were found transporting school children without a permit.

In compliance with the guidelines issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharmveer Singh (IPS), today the traffic police conducted a campaign to check school vehicles at various places in Gwalior city. The said campaign of the traffic police was conducted in various areas of the city under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Shri Shiaz K.M. (IPS) and the leadership of DSP Traffic Shri Ajit Singh Chauhan and RTO Gwalior. During the checking, challan action was also taken against school buses if deficiencies were found in the prescribed standards and they were instructed to follow the guidelines issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court. 11 vans were seized by the traffic police when they were found transporting school children without permit. This campaign of traffic police will continue continuously.

Keeping in view the safety of school children, Traffic Police Gwalior, on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police Gwalior, DSP Traffic Gwalior and RTO Gwalior and their team investigated the prescribed standards in school buses. During the investigation, Traffic Police Gwalior seized 11 vans found transporting school children without permit and challan action was also taken when deficiencies were found in the school buses as per the prescribed standards. During the checking, action was taken by the station in-charges of all three areas of traffic. According to the guidelines issued by the Honorable Supreme Court, the main points are as follows – School buses should be written in big letters in front and behind the school vehicles, and more children than the prescribed seats should not be seated.

Provision of first aid treatment. There should be a fire extinguisher on every bus. A door handle lock should be installed on the door of the bus for safety. The name and telephone number of the school must be written on the bus.
