DPSRU Organises International Symposium on Enhancing Development and Business Opportunities for Startups and MSEs

The DPSRU-CRTDH Centre, in collaboration with DPSRU-DIIF, successfully organised an International Symposium titled “Unlocking Business Promotion in Europe through PUM Support to Startups, MSEs, Incubates and Incubation Centres” at Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University. The event witnessed participation from approximately 60 startups, micro and small enterprises (MSEs), incubates, entrepreneurs, and faculty members.
The symposium was organised in alignment with recent policy initiatives undertaken by the Government of India to strengthen India’s global pharmaceutical and biotechnology presence. Key initiatives discussed included the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, expected to open significant access to European pharmaceutical and medical device markets, and the Biopharma SHAKTI programme, introduced in the Union Budget 2026 to enhance domestic capabilities in biologics and biosimilars.
The expert sessions were delivered by Leila Dias and Puneet Raman from PUM Netherlands. The speakers highlighted PUM’s role in supporting enterprises through strategic business development, regulatory compliance, process optimisation, product development, and facilitating international collaborations, particularly for Indian companies entering European markets.
Addressing the gathering, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ravichandiran V., emphasized the university’s strong research ecosystem, advanced incubation facilities, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) infrastructure. He also highlighted the potential for collaborative initiatives with PUM to strengthen innovation-driven entrepreneurship and global engagement.
The symposium included an interactive session in which entrepreneurs and startup representatives engaged directly with the PUM delegation to discuss business expansion challenges, explore collaboration opportunities, and seek mentorship. The programme concluded with a guided visit to DPSRU’s research, development, and incubation facilities, providing participants with insights into the university’s advanced innovation and technology development capabilitie
