Tahir Kamaal Siddiqui - Indore 2025-10-02 2 min read

On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, senior citizens were welcomed at the Indore GPO office with rose buds and informed about the special facilities provided by the Postal Department for senior citizens.

The Postal Department, especially for senior citizens, fulfilled a long-pending demand for an elevator. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Mrs. Preeti Agarwal, Postmaster General, Indore, the elevator facility was inaugurated, making it easier for senior citizens to access any floor of the office. A special counter has also been opened at the IPPB branch (ground floor) for senior citizens to handle their savings bank and booking work. Keeping the convenience of senior citizens in mind, the Postal Department provided information regarding facilities such as home parcel pickup, receiving payments through IPPB from home, and Aadhaar card updates.

The elderly present at the event also shared their fond memories of the Postal Department, which moved everyone. He told that the charges for the services provided by the Postal Department like Foreign Speed ??Post, Parcel and other services are much less than other courier services. The reach of the Postal Department is in every city and village and there is no alternative to the importance of the Postal Department's post card, because through postcard we are able to write our feelings for our loved ones in words. This initiative was appreciated by all the elderly people present. Senior Postmaster Indore GPO, all the employees and senior citizens were present in the program.
