Under the leadership of Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, the Delhi BJP today held a strong protest outside Bang Bhawan against the attack by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on BJP tribal MP Shri Khagen Murmu and his tribal associates in West Bengal. The protestors demanded the resignation of the Mamata government.

The protest, conducted by State Vice President Shri Rajkumar Bhatia, was attended by State President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, BJP MP Shri Yogendra Chandolia, State General Secretary Shri Vishnu Mittal, State Vice President Smt. Yogita Singh, NDMC member Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh, State Minister Shri Vinod Bacheti, ST Morcha President Shri C.L. Meena, Shri Santosh Ojha, Shri Anees Abbasi, Smt. Richa Pandey Mishra, Shri Vikram Mittal, Office Secretary Shri Brajesh Rai, Shri Amit Gupta, and several other dignitaries and hundreds of karyakartas (party workers).

On this occasion, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva stated that while political parties operate in every state, the kind of events unfolding in West Bengal over the past few days are extremely concerning. He said, “Appeasement and violence have become the norm for the TMC. The brutal attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community, while he was distributing relief material in flood-affected areas, is deeply disturbing. Mamata Banerjee cannot tolerate BJP leaders standing with the people in their time of need.”

Shri Sachdeva added that TMC goons attacked a public representative and sent him to the ICU. Open hooliganism is prevailing in Bengal. An attack on a public representative is a direct attack on democracy, and Mamata Banerjee must be held accountable. “She cannot shirk her responsibility,” he said. He further added, “Bengal, once known for its rich culture, heritage, and great personalities like Rabindranath Tagore, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, and Subhash Chandra Bose, is now witnessing gunfire and bomb blasts.”

The Delhi BJP President said, “Today’s protest in Delhi is proof that the people of Delhi stand with the people of Bengal who are suffering under Mamata’s rule. The people of Bengal now want freedom from Mamata Banerjee, and this desire for change will be clearly reflected in the upcoming elections.”

Shri Yogendra Chandolia said, “Mamata Banerjee’s government is selectively persecuting BJP leaders. The people of Bengal are fed up with her rule. Since 2011, her government has ruined the state in the name of politics focused only on one particular community.”
