The 14th Bible Festival began with devotion.

Indore, the Catholic Diocese of Indore's 14th three-day Bible Festival began with devotion in the courtyard of St. Paul Higher Secondary School. Bishop Thomas Mathew, in the presence of priests and faithful, released a rosary made of blue and white balloons into the sky. Following this, the parishioners of Holy Spirit Church, Palda, entered the venue in a procession with a statue of Mother Mary and the Holy Bible, accompanied by a welcome dance. Bishop Thomas Mathew, Bishop Chacko, preacher Father Yesudas, Father Maria Paulraj SVD, Vicar General Father Simon Raj, and the faithful lit the lamps at the venue. The Holy Scriptures were then read from the Bible. Bishop Thomas offered the opening prayer. Vicar General Father Simon Raj welcomed Father Yesudas and his team, as well as everyone else.

Praise and worship were offered by preacher Father Yesudas and his team. In his homily, Father Yesudas said, "Human life is a journey. The primary goal of this journey is to see God, to encounter God, to grow closer to God, and ultimately to attain Him. Human life should not be directionless, and so should the journey of life itself. Generally, humans are preoccupied with and preoccupied with their worldly, material needs. Thus, in the modern age, humans are becoming increasingly entangled in materialism, drifting away from God. The question is, is man hearing God's voice today? And if he is unable to, then he is straying from his life's purpose. This 14th Bible Festival is being organized to strive to bring those who are drifting away from God back to God."

In his homily during the Holy Mass, Bishop (Dr.) Thomas Mathew of the Catholic Diocese of Indore said, "Man has come to this world as a sojourner. This journey continues from birth to death. Just as Lord Jesus Christ had some friends and some enemies during this journey, so too has every human being." There are friends and opponents. Opposition to truth and goodness is a worldly tradition. Even Jesus Christ faced this. He offered no negative reactions or comments to his opponents. We must do the same, completing our life's journey with love and brotherhood, without any criticism of our opponents.

The Youth Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Indore organized a Bible Festival for children, titled "Kairos 2025," "Journey to Hope." Over 400 children participated. Father Mahesh Sulya, Director of the Youth Commission, welcomed all the children to the event. Various activities and prayers were organized for the children, in which all participated enthusiastically.

The first day's celebration concluded with the adoration of the Holy Eucharist and prayers for healing for the sick. A large number of believers attended and benefited from this celebration.

On Wednesday, October 1, the second day of the Bible Festival, the morning of the Bible Festival began. The program will begin with the chanting of the Holy Rosary at 10 a.m. The Holy Mass will be led by Chacko SVD, former Bishop of the Indore Diocese.

Father Anthony Swamy and B.A. Alvaris of the Indore Christian Media Forum provided all the information.
