The BJP government at the Centre and in the state is merely a government of branding and a government that diverts attention from the issues: Umang Singhar

Shahdol. At a press conference in Shahdol, Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Dhar on September 17th. He also criticized the BJP government on issues concerning the state and district. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the PM MITRA Park in Dhar and launch the "Healthy Women, Strong Family" campaign. The BJP is celebrating this as a "Seva Pakhwada," but the Leader of the Opposition called it an opportunity to highlight the government's failures.

1. What is the PM MITRA Park for?

The Leader of the Opposition stated that 1,300 acres of land has been allotted to 91 companies so far. He questioned what is the share of local units and MSMEs? Is it becoming reserved solely for large industrial houses? He asserted that while he is not opposed to development, he cannot accept the neglect of local MSMEs and traditional industries.

2. Where is the attention to Dhar's tiger print?

Mr. Singhar said that tiger print is Dhar's cultural and economic identity. The central government has paid no special attention to it in the last 10 years. He asked how many crores of rupees were allocated as part of the package for tiger print artisans. Other small industries are being allocated, and the government should answer.

3. Farmers in crisis, BJP celebrating

The Leader of the Opposition said that farmers in Madhya Pradesh are standing in line for fertilizer. Farmers in Rewa and Bhind were lathi-charged for demanding fertilizer. Meanwhile, the central government's report states that fertilizer is in surplus, so why is it not reaching farmers? He said this shows that there is a lack of coordination between departments and that black marketing is being encouraged.

4. Questions on women's safety, the government is only doing branding

Raising the issue of women's safety, the Leader of the Opposition said that on average, 18 rapes occur every day in Madhya Pradesh and more than 23,000 women are missing. These figures were presented by the government itself during the monsoon session of the Assembly. He asked Prime Minister Modi and Mohan Yadav, "Is this the true face of 'Beti Bachao'?" He said the BJP government is merely branding itself in the name of women.

5. Youth are not getting jobs

Mr. Singhar further stated that development is lagging everywhere in Shahdol. Companies are coming to the state and making money, but the youth here are not getting jobs or proper wages. He said that coal workers are being forced to work in the mines for low wages. Does the government want to hand over lands rich in sand, coal, and mineral resources to big industrialists? He said that usury is rampant in the entire region, and he will discuss this issue with the government.
