Sant Nirankari Mission’s Vice President Rev. Raj Vasdev Ji Immersed in the Divine Nirankar

A pious saint who devoted her entire life in the benign guidance of six Satgurus. Beloved by all, and the author of many historic and inspirational books of the Mission, her life remains a luminous chapter in the history of the Nirankari Mission. On the late night of 12 September, having completed the breaths granted by the Almighty Nirankar, she surrendered at the Nirankar’s will and became one with the Divine. Her life has not only been a bright chapter in the Mission’s history but will also remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.

Rev. Raj Vasdev Singh Ji was born on 5 May 1941 in Peshawar, Pakistan. Due to her family’s close connection with the True Master’s family, she was a devoted disciple since childhood. Her original name was Rajinder Kaur, but after marriage to Vasdev Singh Ji, she came to be known as Raj Vasdev in the field of writing and service – a name that became her identity. She received Brahm Gyan from Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji. Her entire family was steeped in the colour of devotion to the Nirankari Mission. Hence, her thoughts, emotions, and deeds always reflected dedication, fearlessness, and the passion of ishq-haqiqi (divine love).

In education, she consistently displayed excellence. She did her early schooling at Khalsa High School, Ambala Cantt. After succeeding in the Home Nursing competition and completing matriculation, she became a teacher at Punjab National School, Ambala Cantt. Continuing her studies, she earned an M.A. in English and later served as a Professor of English at DAV College, Hoshiarpur. Despite facing many difficult circumstances in life, she never stopped moving forward, which is why her personality always radiated indomitable courage and dedication.

Rev. Raj Vasdev Ji made the propagation of the Mission the purpose of her life. She wished that every child of the Mission should become a preacher, and with this aim she travelled across India and abroad, spreading satsang, teachings, and spiritual awareness. From 1990, she began contributing regularly to the Mission’s magazines and publications. Her writing style was simple, profound, and heart-touching, connecting readers deeply with the teachings of the Mission. In 2002, during the General Body Meeting, Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji appointed her as Additional Member Incharge of the Sant Nirankari Mandal’s Executive Committee, making her the first woman member of this committee. This was not only a historic decision but also a new milestone in enabling active participation of women in the Mission. From 2005 to 2009, she was entrusted with the Publication Department and the Mission’s public schools, which she served with utmost devotion and efficiency.

In 2013, she was given responsibility for the Preaching Department, and under her leadership, the first Women’s Sant Samagam of the Mission was organised, chaired by the revered Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji. This event became a new source of inspiration for the women of the Mission. In 2015, under her guidance, the first English-medium Samagam was held on the theme “Youth Guided by Truth”, graced by the holy presence of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji. To connect the youth with the Mission’s teachings, she organised several workshops, training sessions, and seminars that still carry the indelible imprint of her contribution.

Her services did not stop there. In 2018, she was entrusted with the Branch Administration Department, covering large states like Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. In 2019, she also took on the branch administration service for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Finally, in 2022, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj appointed her as the Vice President of Sant Nirankari Mandal – a responsibility she fulfilled with complete dedication until her last breath. Rev. Raj Vasdev Ji always remained deeply devoted to the Satguru’s instructions. Her work bore no sign of show or display, but reflected the depth of selfless service. For her, every service was a blessing. Her life was not only that of a devoted disciple, but of an ascetic personality connected with the very soul of the Mission – a life that will be remembered for ages.

Her final journey will commence on 13 September at 4:00 p.m. from Nirankari Colony, Delhi, and conclude at 4:30 p.m. at Nigambodh Ghat.

With the blessings of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, and under the blessings of Rev. Nirankari Rajpita Ramit Ji, a special ‘Inspiration Day’ dedicated to the inspiring life of Rev. Raj Vasdev Ji will be held on 14 September 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Ground No. 8, Burari Road, Delhi. On this occasion, saints of the Mission will pay their floral tributes and draw lessons from her inspiring life.
