Brahma Kumaris perform yoga and penance upon the passing of someone.

The Brahma Kumaris believe that when someone leaves their body, if we mourn or shed tears, the departed soul is saddened. Therefore, when a brother or sister associated with the Brahma Kumaris passes away, yoga is performed sitting in front of their mortal remains. Through yoga, BK members give them vibrations of good intentions. They also receive rays of power from God and give them to the soul so that it experiences peace and completes its journey happily.

Sisters also participate with brothers in the funeral rites.

In the Brahma Kumaris, sisters also participate with brothers in the funeral rites and the final journey. They also light the funeral pyre along with their brothers.
