Dead body helps medical students to study human anatomy

Humanity has once again got a new direction from a pious act like body donation. Tikamgarh resident Shri Ashutosh Awasthi, after the death of his father Shri Hari Vishnu Awasthi, did not perform the traditional last rites and dedicated his body to the Anatomy Department of the Medical College for academic and research work.

Medical College Dean Dr. Deepak Singh Marawi expressed his gratitude to the Awasthi family for this pious deed and said, “Body donation is the biggest donation. This helps the upcoming doctors to understand the living body structure. This decision of the Awasthi family is inspiring for the society.”

Head of Anatomy Department, Dr. Sameer Sathe said that the body of Shri Awasthi will be used for the education of anatomy of medical students, which will benefit many future doctors. This decision of the Awasthi family awakens a new consciousness in the society that the purpose of life can be made meaningful even after death.

Before donating his body to the medical college, all the doctors, students, staff and family of the medical college paid their emotional tributes, observed two minutes of silence and prayed to God for the peace of his soul and he was also given a Guard of Honor! During this, Medical Superintendent Dr. Arjun Singh, Dr. Vivek Verma, Dr. Surendra Buddhist, Dr. Tribhuvan Singh, Dr. Sachin Yadav, and doctors and students of the medical college were present!
