With the arrest of a cyber-fraudster, the Cyber Police Station team solved a cheating case involving Rs. 3.5 lakhs.

On the complaint of victim Karan (30 years), S/o Satyavir, R/o 2nd Pushta, New Usmanpur, a case under Sections 318/319 BNS was registered at Cyber PS/NED, Delhi. The complainant reported that he had been cheated of Rs. 3,55,017/- through a Telegram handle, where he was lured with promises of massive returns on online investments. He was persuaded to make repeated investments, but when no returns were received, he realized he had been duped.
During the course of investigation, a team led by Insp. Rahul Kumar, SHO/Cyber, established that the beneficiary bank account in the case was being accessed via a Wi-Fi connection on a mobile handset. On detailed analysis, the team successfully traced and arrested a person identified as Aditya Kumar (22 years), S/o Ashok Kumar, R/o Basai Enclave, Part-1, Gurgaon, Haryana. The mobile phone used in the commission of crime was recovered from his possession. During sustained interrogation, the accused admitted to his crime and also disclosed his involvement in another case.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was actively involved in multiple NCRP complaints across various states in India. He used mule bank accounts and mule SIM cards to siphon off cheated funds. Investigation in the case is on-going.
