PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN NDPS CASES ARRESTED BY CENTRAL RANGE, CRIME BRANCH

• Accused Amit Kumar Jha @ Hari Kant Jha declared Proclaimed Offender in FIR No. 140/2018, PS Crime Branch under NDPS Act.

• Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) also issued in another NDPS Act case registered at PS Kashmere Gate New Delhi.

• Apprehended while attempting to flee Delhi

OPERATION & ARREST

In a major breakthrough, the team of Central Range, Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested a Proclaimed Offender and absconding accused, Amit Kumar Jha @ Hari Kant Jha, aged 45, resident of Faridabad, Haryana.

On 23rd August 2025, specific information was received by HC Ajay Yadav regarding the movement of Amit Kumar Jha, who had been evading court proceedings in two NDPS Act cases. It was revealed that he would be present near Khajuri Chowk, Delhi around 4:00 PM, attempting to flee the city.

Acting on this input, a raiding team comprising SI Mohit, ASI Deepak Kumar, HC Pankaj, HC Karan, and HC Ajay Yadav, under the overall supervision of Inspector Vinay, swiftly proceeded to the location. The team was tactically deployed near parked vehicles and laid a trap.

Around 4:00 PM, the secret informer pointed out a suspect approaching from the Aggarwal Sweets side towards Shastri Park Road. The suspect was immediately intercepted and apprehended. Upon interrogation, he disclosed his identity as Amit Kumar Jha @ Hari Kant Jha, S/o Uday Kant Jha, R/o Riwaspur, Faridabad, Haryana, aged 45 years.

On verification it was confirmed that he had been declared a Proclaimed Offender in FIR No. 140/2018, PS Crime Branch, and he was wanted in FIR No. 522/2023, PS Kashmere Gate, Delhi.Following due procedure, he was arrested.

• FIR No. 522/2023, PS Kashmere Gate, U/s 20/29 NDPS Act – NonBailable Warrant (NBW) issued against the accused vide court order dated 12/08/2025.

• The accused is a habitual offender involved in narcotics trafficking.
