CYBER PS SHAHDARA BUSTS FAKE JOB RACKET: HABITUAL FRAUDSTER DUPING ADVOCATES & EDUCATED WOMEN IN SHAHDARA NABBED

INCIDENT :-
A case vide FIR No. 66/25 dated 18.08.2025 u/s 318(4)/61(2) BNS, PS Cyber Shahdara, Delhi was registered on the statement of Ms. Shikha Tiwari, R/o  Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi-110032.  She alleged that on 10.06.2025, she received a message from one Ms. Vijay Lakshmi, who is an advocate, stating that the accused was a competent person for providing a job as mentioned in his profile. Later, it was revealed that the profile of Ms. Vijay Lakshmi had itself been hacked by the accused and was misused to induce her to part with money.  The complainant’s attention was further drawn to a message sent by the accused from his mobile number (xxxxxxxxxx) on 11.06.2025, in the name and style of the Education Department, promising her a women’s seat in the Women Commission Head Seat. In pursuance of this, she received an email stating that any interested person could apply by paying an upfront processing fee of ?5,260/-. Subsequently, on the same day (11.06.2025 at about 8:35 PM), she received another email confirming that her registration had been completed for the seat under the Member of Parliament Quota. The email also provided a registration number WHSAP92689 and stated that she was now eligible for the next elimination round for selection in the interview list. Thereafter, on 12.06.2025, she received another email informing her that she had been shortlisted among 15 candidates for the next interview round. It was further mentioned that their team would communicate the time and date of the interview, and she was asked to pay ?12,500/- and ?5,350/- towards further processing. When the complainant attempted to contact the accused on the WhatsApp number provided, she received no response. Becoming suspicious, she immediately lodged a complaint on the NCRP Portal on 12.06.2025.
TEAM CONSTITUTED:  
 
To name the fraudster, a team was constituted comprising SI Ritu Dangi, ASI Rahul Chaudhary, HC Deepak Kumar, HC Rajni Chaudhary, and Constable Amit Kumar, led by SHO/PS Cyber Sh. Vijay Kumar under the supervision of ACP/Ops Sh. Jagdish Prasad.
 
INVESTIGATION :
 
During the investigation, it was revealed that the whole amount of Rs. 23,110/ was transferred from the complainant in the Punjab National Bank account which was got opened in the name of Sagar Singh   R/o Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad, U.P 201009. The mobile number, through which the accused person had contacted complainant Shikha Tiwari via WhatsApp call, was found to be registered in the name of the accused Sagar Singh. Further, with technical and cyber investigation it was reveled that IP logs used in the scam are belonging to the accused Sagar Singh. It was also revealed that the accused had cheated another lady advocate of an amount of ?3,34,230/- on the pretext of providing her the post of Chairperson in the Women’s Commission. Thereon, by misusing the Facebook ID of the said lady advocate, the accused defrauded complainant Shikha Tiwari in the name of offering a job for the post of Co-Head in the Women’s Commission. After visiting the address of accused and more investigation, it was revealed that Sagar Singh, also has previous involvements of same kind scams. Upon enquiry, it appeared that the accused Sagar Singh is a habitual criminal.
 
MODUS OPERANDI :-
During the course of interrogation, it was revealed that Sagar Singh maintained details of various jobs in the MHA & other departments, Delhi Government, and find the profile of these department heads through Google. He then approached victims by claiming to be closely associated with these officials’, or at times impersonated senior officers himself, assuring the victims that he could secure a job for them.

Accused Sagar Singh @ Manu r/o Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh 201009, AGE-27 YRS. Education (B.COM.Pass)

Shahdara Delhi Police urges all citizens to remain vigilant against online job frauds. Always verify the authenticity of job offers, recruitment agencies, and payment demands.
